Can anyone tell me what the maximum torque an M47 (the 5-Speed) from a 1991 Volvo 240 can take? I would like to use it in an engine swap in a totally different car.

So I got my m47 bolted in and was going to install the newly balanced driveshaft but I think I may be missing something. There is a triangular flange that popped off the back of the tranny where the driveshaft connects and the bentley says there is supposed to be a centering sleeve. I have had two M47s laying around here for awhile and they did not have that sleeve afaik. The ...
Blinder M27/M47 Jammer and PDC in one.. Just noticed there was a new Blinder out, software upgradeable, and flip the switch it acts as a parking distance control... So cool http://www.blinder.net/products.htm By the way anyone use Veil? I have one friend that has it, and was wondering if anyone has some ...

So I am swapping in an m47 that I have had laying around forever. I cannot remember how the clutch fork and throwout bearing go. Is this how it is supposed to go? It just seems weird because nothing holds the fork to the ball, when you move it the whole thing just falls off.

Hi, I did an aw71-> m47 swap and I'm having soo much fun! (manual R@PES!) But back to my point: I'd just like to know what your average cruise RPM is, I did an aw71-> m47 swap, I've been hearing the gearing is different. I see no difference, it feels just like the auto, I cruise at exactly the same rpm, is the m47 diff different? as in lower? Say at 120 km/h (thats like.. 75mph?) ...

The drivetrain is an '87 lh2.2 b230 with an m47. I am currently running 13 pounds of boost and the stock clutch is no longer cutting it. I see there are a few offerings from spec and clutchnet but would like some real life feedback from people with similar set ups. Planning on going the T5 route but not for at least a year so i am looking for something that will put up with my ...

I have a 1991 240 DL with the M47 5-speed transmission that was written off by my insurance company (ICBC in Canada.) I am looking for somewhere were I can see a value for this car. I have an idea as to its worth, but I would like to see something in writing in case my insurance company tries to screw me on the payout. I have searched craigslist with no luck in finding a similar car. ...
Not that it particularly matters, but used to post on the board a long time back(two years or so?), had a 745 Turbo M47, slick machine, sold it to end up with a motorcycle, good decision with the bike, but I miss the 745 everyday, haven't found another one like it since. Fast forward to now, was driving an E36, two door, downright amazing machine but I found myself more often not wanting to...

I recently did a lot of work on my 1986 244 including an AW70 to M47 swap and it all went smoothly and it drives great. I swapped a junkyard 90+ 240 starter since its smaller and puts out 1.4kW instead of 1.1kW. This morning my car would not crank, just makes a click noise when the key was turned to the start position. I plan to do some troubleshooting to ensure its the starter, like turning...
