So I have a truely bad *** FZJ80 straight from my dreams; 4" lift sitting on 35's, Winch, ARB bar, sliders, lockers, longfields, etc... The thing is that I don't drive it, hardly ever. It gets 15 MPG and the conservationist in me has real trouble choosing it over my girlfriend's 40 MPG hybrid for 99% of our driving. Moreover, I bought it with grand intentions of amazing trips to far off places...

I have a 71 fj-40,sbc,4wdb,t400,ARB's,4"sua,longfields,35" STT's--I think that's enough info for you! I have an OEM 3-speed t-case that slips out of low range on decel. I still have the vac shifter for 4WD, and the underdash lever for hi-lo. It does not seem to happen in 4-hi, only 4-lo. I have checked the linkage, and it is adjusted properly. If you manually hold the knob it will stay in, but if...

I had longfields in my 40, and it was nice to not worry about any breakage. It seems like all I do is service my front axle, and the way I wheel means I need to service it every time I go out. I'd like to have some "absorbtion" of shock in my axle, so the thought is to use chromoly axles in combination with stock birfs. Since the chromoly birfs are too soft for street driving in an ...

i have a set of superset longfields for my 80 series landcruiser. i did some research and went with the longfields. most of the research was for the yota mini truck axles i have under my samurai. when i learned that bobby had a set for the 80 i was ecstatic! i feel like i don't have to worry about my birfs with the longfields in there. well worth the money buying it once and installing once. i ...

i agree with ^ post. but i've seen a lot of jeeps with fully chromo'd and ctms get away with 44's and even one or two around with 47's. but at 47's your basically running a dana 30/35 with 37's. i think i should be ok on 44's if i dont hammer the shit out of it 24/7 with chromo's and longfields.

Must have Russian Longfields in those toy axles! Maybe tapping into their titanium resources or something. That's gotta be the biggest tire I've ever seen being driven by a mini truck axle.
