Springfield XD Loaded Chamber Indicator The indicator on my XD is stuck in the loaded position. I can grab it with a pair of pliers and wiggle it a little, but it won't retract back flush. The gun is pretty new, about 800 rounds fired, cleaned once in that time. Any ideas?

Something is stuck under it sounds like...possibly the spring. Knock that pin out that holds it in and have a look...but be careful not to lose the spring.

If the indicator says it's loaded, I assume it's loaded. If the indicator says it's unloaded, I assume it's loaded.

In another thread we were talking about trying to get a replacement barrel to do caliber changes in the batch of 40 S&W SP 2022's that are selling right now. If you bought a new barrel, you would probably need to have a notch cut into it. Do you think it would be possible/safe to remove the LCI? What about removing some of the material? I'm thinking about grinding some of the LCI down on ...

It seems to me that the LCI can be easily removed by driving out the retaining pin in the slide.

Was told by a local gun shop owner that he did not carry the MKIII because the loaded chamber indicator rested on the rim of the cartridge and If dropped could possibly cause a accidental discharge. Has anyone heard of this? I would like to have one but hearing that has me second guessing getting it.

I wouldn't pay a dime more for a MK II than I would a MK III, all other things being equal. I've got one of each, have never done anything to either of them but shoot them. One works as well as the other. YMMV.

The loaded chamber indicator on my xd40 Tactical stays up when the gun is unloaded. As anyone had this problem before and what have you done to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. JonnyBender

You could try heating the slide or cooling the pin. If you get the slide warm it should expand. Or, if you hit the pin with one of those wart remover things, you should be able to shrink it. When people work on cars and have to put a wheel bearing race in a hub, it's not uncommon to put the hub in the oven and the race in the freezer and then assemble them. I DON'T KNOW IF ANY OF THAT ...

CZ-70 is great little gun, but it is not a CZ-UB product. This is a Cold War era police gun. It has some neat features not found on more expensive pocket guns, like loaded chamber indicator, decocker safety, 1911 style mag release, DA/SA. The CZ-50s, the earlier version, had soft steel, while I believe the later CZ-70 had better manufacture. The only problems I ever had with my CZ-70s, two of ...
