Player 1 has a Llanowar Elves on the battlefield. They tap it for mana and in response Player 2 casts a Path to Exile on it. Does player 1 still get the green mana?

Basically, if I was to block with a Llanowar Elves creature on a Grizzly Bears , can I use the Llanowar Elf's tap ability to produce mana to play Giant Growth on the Llanowar Elf (tapped) and kill the Grizzly Bear? Heres the step process: 1. Block with llanowar elf 2. Tap llanowar elf and use giant growth on llanowar elf Can this be done?

I'm running a UG Stompy deck that uses cards like Noble Heirarch , Llanowar Elves , and Harrow to ramp into Huge, green CA spells like Mycoloth, Rampaging Baloths, and Master of the Wild hunt. Is the star symbol in Primalcrux 's P/T equal to 1 when it's not on the field? Say I had a Wild Pair in play and I cast a Llanowar Elves . Can I search my deck for a Primalcrux ? Or does it work the other way, where I cast a Primalcrux and bring out another Primalcrux ? I'm confused as to how the stars work.
