I saw a youtube conversation where a few people answered a question about the price of live rock. They were fairly cheap compared to mine, so i thought i would start a thread. In wisconsin, i have only seen it for $9 per pound. and premium for 13. What's yours?

I am setting up a 55 gal. saltwater tank.Is it O.K. to add regular lava rock with some live rock?? Answer Hello Michael, It would be okay to mix some lava rock with your live rock, as long as the rock was clean and pH nuetral... Try soaking hte lava rock in water for a period of time, and measure the pH of hte water, at the same of day each day for that period, and see if pH changes ...

Hey, maybe a stupid question, but I have a 66 gallon aquarium (RSM250), so I placed about 60 lbs dead, white porous rock and 22 lbs of live rock in it. Overtime, will the dead rock become live rock as well? Is it, considering the filter system of the RSM 250, enough live rock? Thanks!!

Live Rock Growth Does anyone have a link to a place that I can check out all of the common things that grow on live rock? I'm just getting started and I am seeing all sorts of things pop up and I don't know much about it. I'd rather do some research before asking about every little thing I see.

I am setting my tank up again after a move. I have decided that I am not going to go back to sand because it just traps too much junk and you can't have a lot of flow in the tank to aid in nutrient export. My wife hates the look of bare glass on the bottom. Has anyone lined the bottom with live rock rubble with success?
