Ok so this is my FIRST day ever using a mac. I downloaded and installed kalyway 10.5.2 on an external USB HDD (I'm running windows 7 on the internal HDD). I used EasyBDC to add the entry for mac to the windows bootloader. Everything went smoothly except for the audio driver, but it worked right after I installed a couple of kexts. So now everything works nice except for a few minor ...

Vintage Audio (record players, hi-fi etc)

I recently acquired a really nice example of this cracking little guitar amp, but it has a couple of problems which I hope that people with more knowledge than me will be able to help me fix! Problem 1 - as received it had distorted sound and a bad mains hum. "No problem" I thought, "a simple re-cap job will sort that out". So all of the caps have been replaced with new, except for the ...

I'm sure it's not damp Mike, as the amp has been kept indoors since I've had it, about 2 months. I't doesn't look like it would be easy or even possible to dismantle it, so I'll look for a replacement. Thanks for the help.

People don't want to think about how a job and stress can cause a small baby.  They'll dismiss it, rationalize it, diminish it, claim the study is flawed and out-of-date or even that it is trying to keep women at home, barefoot and pregnant.  They'll point out other cultures where the women are active until they give birth to which I point out those cultures also have a "birthing woman", the ...

Thanks chitty--I did use your notes fairly liberally when installing the Zerostart heater. I overlooked your listing for the spring clamps. Interestingly, the only places that are leaking, are at the oil cooler and at the heater itself. The head connection(s) are not leaking. I think I am going to change to spring clamps on the oil cooler and then on both heater connections. Quote:...

Okay so here's the story.  I will try to keep it short.  My son is 6 weeks old now, will be 7 weeks on Thursday.  He laid on my bladder a lot and in my 2nd trimester, every time I rolled over in bed, it felt like he was being pushed into my bladder but once I settled down, it was fine. Anyway, 5 days after he was born, I was standing in the kitchen, when all of the sudden, I felt a pain,...

Windows Media Player "wmpnetwk.exe". It was gobbling up 1.2 to 1.5 GB's of my ram! I was having problems with simple programs like solitaire freezing, hole system slow-downs or freeze, background applications would not close. It would start fine and within 1 to 5 minutes, and my 2GB's of ram would be maxed out (I was using a CPU & Ram Usage gadget). You can find out if it is your problem by ...

Welcome to the forum! I've put over 26K miles on mine in a little over a year doing a 75 mile a day commute and various long trips. I haven't had any mechanical problems (knock on wood), but I did deal with an AC problem and a fan problem. I'm not at all concerned with the size or ability to drive on the freeway. Distance to a servicing dealer is another matter. I'm in a similar boat with a ...
