I've burned a few linux distos to CD to recover documents from a PC which isn't booting into Vista. This is working fine, however, when I try to plug in a Seagate FreeAgent Go into the PC it's read only, I can see how to set it to write but it doesn't let me. Slax seems quite nice, as does Knoppix, so, does anyone know how I can make this drive writeable - otherwise memory sticks is a bit of...

I can remove the Voodoos since they aren't really used. Basically I have ...

I'm not too acquainted with Linux distributions, but Ubuntu is supposently one of the easier and popular distros on the Internet (I know mostly of it because lots of people use it for folding). Which distro do you use?

Går kun i Slackware for min del. Det har det gjort i flere år nå, og underveis har jeg vært innom flere andre distroer i tillegg, men faller alltid tilbake igjen

If you have a spare copy of XP, you could probably just use that. 256MB should be enough. (You might need to do some trimming, or if you want another option - use Windows 2000 Pro)

I usually use Arch Linux because I can fully customize it to run extremely efficiently and just to my liking. I find other Linux distros tend to come with a lot of extras and it is hard to find them all. However, setting up Arch Linux just how you want it can take a looong time. Thus it is good to have another distribution installed incase you have any problems or just want to take it easy ...
