Hello: A colleague of mine has bought a (limestone) stone fire surround and hearth. The hearth is black granite and fitted OK. The fire surround consists of 4 parts. 2 legs 1 lintel and the mantel. We have figured out how it fits together but need help on how it is actually fitted to the walls. The legs are not solid stone but made from flat stone panels formed into a U shape ...

We have limestone in a shower. There is spalling and a white film like soap residue/scum that does not come off with cleaners. Should limestone , especially green limestone be used in a shower? limestone LIMESTONE A sedimentary rock composed of calcium carbonate.

Planning on setting up a 20 long for a breeding pair of Kribs. Does anyone have any advice on: 1) Substrate - should I use sand or something a little larger? 2) Tank 'Decoration' - Never used any live plants before - only hard water fish with limestone. Any recommendations? Plastics maybe - will they 'make it possible' ? 3) Dither fish - any recommendations that won't end up being ...

I've been successfully developing films on my own for some time now. I use Ilford LC29 and Rapid fixer, wash film in water and rinse it finally in distilled water to prevent limestone from accumulating on the film. This last step, I do in a pretty silly way, I just hold the film with one hand and pour the distilled water on the film and let it slide downwards. Then I just hang the film and let ...

Just ordered a set of steel D110 wheels for my D90. Thinking about powder coating them the white color from a Series rover (Limestone). I've heard that there's also a Mercedes white color that it a very close match. Has anyone done this with their wheels? If so would you happen to know the correct paint (powder, I guess) code? Has anyone had any powder coating done in the Denver area with good ...

Henry, In response to your comment. I have never damaged one stair tread yet doing it that way. It comes out like it was just installed! If it was ohio stone (which you cant get around here anymore) I would say no way! It is very soft and yes it would carve it up like a thanks giving turkey. Why spend money on a specialty cleaner when you can use hot water and 12.5% SH? Its only mold and ...
