I am looking for a certain article on contemporary ligatures and thought this would be the right sort of place to come and ask for some help. I remember reading a very interesting piece on some new ligatures that someone had designed, including a very clever ’ing’ ligature consisting of a lowercase n with a dot over the stem and a loop attached to the right of the character. As this ...

( This isn't a bug, but it's definitely a recurring problem that people run into when moving to XeTeX or XeLaTeX. XeTeX and XeLaTeX don't set up TeX-based ligatures by default, possibly because they support direct UTF-8 input. To get the ligatures, enter the following after your \usepackage{fontspec}: \defaultfontfeatures{Mapping=tex-text} However, if you're ...

With FontLab I realized some ligatures in my font and it worked. But now I have a problem: the kerning. I tried to use the classes to associate the gliphs to the ligatures but it seems not work. Have any of you used the classes for kerning the ligatures?
I was typing something up in OpenOffice on Ubuntu and I noticed there were no ligatures, at least not automatically. OK. No big deal - I figured I could just turn the feature on. Looked for it and did not see it. Went to help and did a search for ligatures. The response: OpenOffice.org requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task. Please install a JRE ...

J'ai 2 enfants et je ne souhaite pas d'autre enfant et encore moins mon homme. Nous avons 30 ans. Le doc nous dit que nous sommes trop jeune pour prendre une tel décision. Vous en pensez quoi ???

I know there are several possibilities for the laces, but if we take the most logical scenario....the longer laces belonging to the largest shoes, and the same color laces coming from the same color shoes....This is what I get: [CHRIS' SHOES] Chris' black ligature (28-32") came from Chris' shoe. [size 12 1/2] Chris' other shoe still contained a black lace. [MICHAEL'S SHOES] ...

Riccard0, Agreed re all those points, watch ths space for further developments. I’m thinking of handling the clashing pairs as non-discretionary ligatures. Thanks!

If you are asking about Adobe fonts, the answer gets complex. Those that are availabvle as Open Type fonts are installable and usable without problems. Type 1 fonts might be a problem. The situation is OK if you have both the PFM and PFB files. They install and are usable with the same limitations amd work-arounds that such fonts always have had with foreign language support, ligatures and ...

You don't mention which version of iTunes you're using. I'm guessing that you let iTunes keep your folders organised and that this might be part of the problem. I have Overpowered by Róisín Murphy who, up until now I had listed as Roisin Murphy . Because I don't let iTunes manage my file & folder names I first updated the Artist & Album Artist fields in iTunes, then removed the ...
