Can Lifting Weights Cause a Stroke? from About.com Weight Training When you push hard with an overhead lift your systolic blood pressure (the top one) can go very high. That's one reason to try to breathe regularly when you're lifting weights, particularly in pushing and pressing exercises.

Think of it like lifting weights. You're strong and lift a lot of weights, then your muscles are weak and need to rebuild. Next time you can lift more. Same concept for SNWT.

So i saw this episode of super boxer the a while back the main event was John Hoppowaite (not sure on the spelling) defending his OZ HW belt against some really old croation guy forget his name who was a former 3x OZ HW champ i think. In there last fight John broke his arm and this was the rematch. Anyway in a interview before the fight the Cro guy was talking about his training and said he ...

Let's say a guy is 6'2" and has to move the bar 24 or 25 inches when he's benching. Then you have another guy who's 5'8" and has to move the bar 16 or 17 inches when he's benching. Even though the shorter guy has to move the bar less, isn't it the same thing because his arms are proportionate to the rest of his body? I can't think of the exact wording to explain this, but does anyone know what ...

About two months ago, I couldn't touch my toes. But today my sister asked me if I could and I could literally put my whole palm on the ground. And I tried kicking my hand held above my head, and I did. I tried for higher and fell right on my a** in the middle of the grocery store. But anyways...I do not do any stretching whatsoever. Why did I suddenly get so flexible?

I am finding it really hard to do my cardio after working out. I usually do 15 minutes before lifting, but then when I go to do the final 15-20 minutes of cardio after lifting I want to throw up within 2 minutes. I have been lifting heavy weights (I think), 50 lbs on the squat bar, 180 on the leg press, 60 on the flyaway (where you arms are out to the side and you pull your arms together). ...

You have to be careful when using national health guidelines in this type of discussion. Most national health organizations changed the focus of their recommendations about 20 years ago. Before, the focus was on trying to get people to start a "traditional" cardio program--i.e. 3x per week, 20 min/workout at an aerobic training heart rate. However, research studies were done that showed that ...

Yea when you have shorter legs the stride length is reduced and in basketball the first step and misdirection is incredibly important. I can force that first step very quick and it is easier for me to plant and change directions as well as fit through certain gaps. One of the few advantages being shorter has in b-ball imo - that and being lower to the ground with a strong dribble/base is nice....
