Anyone have any experience with a 4.2 liter Blazer engine that has lifter noise. 68K on it and the dealer said they can't figure out what's going on - after running up a huge bill to diagnose the problem. Louder noise when first starting, then quiets down a bit. No loss of performance or other problems. I'm getting pretty frustrated with the lack of an answer and wondering if it's a dog of a ...

Does anyone have one I can borrow or rent from ya? I need to degree my cams in and I have the TFS kit but it doesn't come with a solid lifter! So if anyone has a adjustable solid lifter that would be great! I'm not 100% it needs to be adjustable...looks like a plain solid lifter would work. Thanks!

I have an '07 GMC Sierra SLT w/5.3l & AFM... Has anyone attempted a cam or lifter upgrade.? Are we truly limited to this sluggish, barely torqn' engine.? I had the '04 with the same engine less AFM and it would smoke my '07..(if I raced it) If I would have known better I would have stayed with the Classic to avoid the AFM. I am just looking for a yes or no...and maybe...

Alright here's the deal. I have a 89 swift gti DOHC and am replacing all 8 exhaust valves and 2 of the intake. Some ones been in this motor before and put this lifter in thats intirely different in shape and height than all the originals. WEIRD! Thats probably the reason it had a burnt exhaust valve. Any way i really need to find the right lifter for this motor or if anyone knows where i can ...

After running regular oil for 130k i switched to mobil 1 10/30. Changed the filter every 500miles. I'm now getting a lot more lifter tap. Thinking about going to 0 40 or draining a quart and adding Lucas oil stabalizes. Or I might just do a oil flush product and go back to regular oil. Any thoughts?

I just checked under my rocker cover to see if there was an obvious explanation for the tapping I've been getting when the engine gets warm. I checked each spring and pushrod and looked for rocker wear. Everything looked good - almost. I noticed one of the rockers had slop after tightening it back down to 24 ftlbs. The rocker has no more wear than any of the others. I double checked to ...

OK, not a hard core wrencher, but not incompetent either. Had our TJ since early spring this year and never noticed this issue prior to the oil change I did a few weeks back. When I first start the motor, after sitting in the garage all night, it settles down to a nice idle (I always try to give at least a short warm up period on all my vehicles) but it emits a light clacking like a lifter is not...

Weird rattle noise If I rev high and drop back down, I get a bit of a rattle. Seems to do it in every gear. Any ideas? I never heard it before tonight, my lifter tick was atrocious at mid-high revs before. EGR vac line was disconnected at some point after I had the lifters swapped, could it be the EGR?
