At first when the term "South Park Republican" was coined, I thought they were Republicans, then I heard that they were actually Libertarians which made sense because they've been taking jabs at conservatives and liberals, then and after watching last night's episode it seemed like the cut Obama a bit of slack against all the criticism he gets from people like Glenn Beck. So politically ...

I have seen some libertarians claim that it is impossible to be a racist, and a libertarian. I assume the basis for this argument is that libertarians value the individual over the collective, thus putting people into groups would be hypocritical of a libertarian. TI find this logic flawed. To deny traits in specific races of human beings , or even family traits from a single blood line is to ...

Are American Libertarians and States Rightists vehement hypocrites? So called libertarians and 'states rightists' are screaming about Obama taking away their freedoms and rights and guns and SUV's and indoctrinating their kids and sending the government into their lives. Might seem like a dumb question, but it just seems like most martial artists I meet are libertarians, or claim they aren't but hold similar political beliefs.

Government is regulation. Regulation is government. Whenever you talk about deregulation, you're asking for democracy of the dollar. Which would you rather have, one dollar = one vote, or one man = one vote. If you picked the latter, the only way you can insure that one man will equal one vote is to regulate the power of money. Money doesn't police itself. VMAT2 (my political ...

I realize prison can be a punishment, but don't they really serve to protect the rest of us from the bad guys? It seems it would make more sense from a libertarian stand point to arm everyone and let them mete out punishment whenever they feel threatened. It would save a lot of taxpayer money, as well.

Recently I found myself banned from commenting on CNN.com for a comment I posted in response to a rather pedantic and sexist article. Because my views were ideologically in opposition to the author my comment was deleted and I was banned from commenting. Yes, it was due to ideology, as several offensive comments were left up but all of those agreed with the author's liberal bent. Furthermore...

Liberal used to just that; pro-liberty. Liberal was a term used to describe what would be modern day libertarians. But leftists in the USA realized that socialist had a bad connotation in the 20th century and snatched it up without any respect for it's actual meaning. Freedom and Equality are, more often than not, in conflict with each other. 'Liberalism'/socialism demand a strong coercive ...

Police surveillance cameras can make civil libertarians queasy. But what if cops could listen for dangerous crime instead of watching? Enter ShotSpotter, a Mountain View, Calif., company that has installed microphones on telephone poles in 45 cities and counties across the U.S. with few complaints from local citizens. ShotSpotter monitors only one thing: gunshots. Its microphones can ...

How do you spell wealth redistribution? Tax-increment financing By Michelle Malkin October 1, 2009 10:00 AM When I worked in Seattle covering corporate welfare and city government, I became strange bedfellows with a diverse alliance of libertarians on the right and Ralph Naderites on the left who oppose public-private partnership deals between developers and statist Democrat AND ...
