I'm considering replacing the tuners on my Epiphone LP standard bass with some Hipshot Ultralights. I see that they sell them in 1/2" or 3/8" sizes. Which would be proper as a replacement on my Epi? Thanks a lot for your help.

Epi Les Paul Plus w/Duncuns vs. Ibanez S5470 I can't try both guitars so which one's better? I play Alternative Rock, Post-Grunge, Metal (Metallica, Disturbed, Pantera)... so I need a good clean sound as well as a good high gain sound.... The price difference is huge but I've been told the Epiphone could measure up... Thanks...
