I was talking to a buddy today who is legally blind. He asked me about a H.D. gun, I told him I use a 12ga for mine. Is there any special training he would need other then going to the range.

Hi, I am looking into colleges right now and I am interested in Engineering. I was planning on majoring in Mechanical Engineering, but am concerned that my vision impairment might hinder me in this degree. Any suggestions to other types of Engineering degrees that might be a better fit? Other things to consider-- I won't be driving as part of my job as I will be relying on public ...

Most of his assign are computer based because they are easier to see. I also feel that I do alot of the reading for him in the assignments that are not computer based. He has a very hard time seeing them, so I try to accomadate him. I was ...

Just wondering. I also want to know if you think learning to read Braille might be a good idea. Ds is 34 months old and legally blind, though he can see. He has been able to match up large print letters when he puts them up to his nose to look at them. I'm sure he'll be able to read large print (with his nose touching the book). Do you think learning braille would be good too?

we can point fingers and scream discrimination all day and all next week but the fact remains a BLIND person should not use a gun in an attempt to defend themself any more than they should be driving a car. It is, plain and simple, unsafe. Fair or not, it is not safe... Say in your posed situation an intruder is shot AT by this legally blind person... lets say they are wearing blue. SO... ...

I'm not a physician. I'm a 61 year old female life long very high myope (-12 and -14). I just had cataract surgery using a toric IOL that so far has been more than satisfactory. However, I don't have your retinal complications and other than for the cataract problems, I was correctable to almost 20/20 up until about two years ago, at which point the cataracts started to really ...
