( I didn't want to hijack the other pad layering thread so I'll just start this one..... Mid to high 20's is probably the limit for my REI lite Core 1.5 and my NF Aleutian bag. At these temps I don't feel like the bag is quite enough to keep me comfortably warm on top and I can begin to feel a coolness beneath me. If I was to use a blue ccf pad that I got from Wal-Mart under the REI pad, would...

I see so many wonderful Christmas trees on this forum and everyone does such a great job. My question is, to achieve the layering look on a tree, how do you do it?? My tree is prelit so that is out of the way, I then do my garland but so many trees look like there are multiple ornaments on each branch. How do you determine when and how to do this???? Am I making any sense?????? Thanks

Is there a way to do layering on here?? I have beenlooking but havent found anything. If someone knows of something please let me know. Looking for an easier way to black & white a picture w/ a selected thing in color other than using the paint brush & having to worry about staying in the lines & not have to do so much erasing!! Thanks!!!

First time poster. Been a fair weather dayhiker for a couple years, now want to be out all year. The concept of layering and all the products available is overwhelming. I don?t want to spend the winter inside doing research, but be out. So I?m looking for advise. Live in Southwest Ohio and thinking I?d hike (usually 5 to 10 miles and don?t stop much) whatever the weekend weather. I?ve included ...

Ok, I know that a textbook compost pile is constructed by layering in the components, but that's something I've never done. I pretty much have continuous add piles, until they're at the point at which I want to let them rest. However, I actually have a lot of materials to add at once - manure, leaves & green yard waste, so I'm wondering if stuff breaks down faster if it's layered in rather than ...

Innit amazing how sounds from one tune over another can totally transform / enhance the sound That sort of shit gives me the greatest buzz in the world.... thinking in particular of summat I did last night layering Seduction - Groove me (dub) over the build & drop to Mindwarp - One.... when Mindwarp goes spastic with the guitar riff & the female moans / screams from Seduction just totally...

layering guitar i have decided that i want to mic my cab and layer guitar tracks this go around instead of going straight in. what is the proper way to layer tracks? i've been told that when layering the same guitar parts on top of each other that the distortion level should be about half of what your live sound is so that when you layer ...

So I admit, I am a complete newb when it comes to winter backpacking. I've done my fair share of snowshoeing, but... I can't wait the winters anymore. I need to escape all year this year, for my sanity! I'm kind of re-analyzing my gear from just day hikes in snowshoes, kind of mentally balancing it against what I use for 3 seasons overnight, and it occurs to me that my set-up is probably ...

I have a flash file posted on my website www.guessthetotal.com My troubles are when you zoom in on the picture it covers up the controls. I have the stage very big right now but you can see if you zoom in all the way. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I can layer the Controls with a white background over the images. Thank You, 14ner

In recent Plant Man columns, weve looked at plants that you might want to avoid because they can become invasive and take over your landscape to the detriment of other plants. But are there plants that can actually kill? Perhaps alter the course of history? Unlikely as that might seem, a recent book takes a fascinating, if gruesome, look at what the author calls wicked plants. Ill give...

Hi I am new to this site and pretty much new to computer photography. I am completely lost when it comes to techical stuff but I love taking pictures and want to learn. However before anyone says "take a class or buy software" that can both be costly. I have checked it out. Anyway, this site was recommended to me via another photo program. My question is this: I am having a hard time ...

Shopping for a closed cell pad today, I really like the Thermarest Ridgerest and Z-Lite pads. A little bulky, but incredibly light for their R-value. However, all the local stores only care 20 inch wide versions. I want to layer it underneat a Deluxe (24 inch wide) Exped mat. Has anyone done this? Will there be possible comfort issues having a narrower pad under a wider one?

In respect to the Flemish layering teqnique... Alexei Antonov "Classical Oil of Portrait of Anna" Pricey! but I can highly recommend it,came through the post this morning and been watching this Artist evolve a magnificent portrait through build up of his layers and believe me it was a huge inspiration to have a go at tackling the layering teqnique. You will not be dissapointed I promise ...

So far, the only thing bugging me about my new 2010 FJ is the racket that comes from the back of the rig. It's annoying, and I'm wondering if anyone has found a great solution for it that doesn't require ripping the car apart and layering it with Dynamat. I did that with my original FJ and it had very little actual effect on the muffler noise (though it did cut down road noise).

kutheta.com You'll notice that the News rollover in the upper left hand corner, if you roll over it, that it is behind the slideshow in the middle of the screen. How do you go about "layering" divs? I want the News item to go on the top most layer, above the slideshow. Thanks for any help.
