I have been shaving with my DE now for about 3 years...so I consider myself a veteran. When I first started, I would make a super lather. I did this until my lather skills got better, and since then I hve just used a soap or a cream (but not together). Tonight, after reading here, I made a lather from Proasso and Tabac. I just made it, but did not use it...but it seemed really slick. So...

Today I decided to conduct a small lather experiment. Since I came out of it learning quite a bit about making lather, I figured I'd write a post about it. I'm putting it in the newbie forum because as a newbie, I think others new to shaving would benefit the most. The experiment is simple, yet the results were eye opening. The idea was to make a lather using a bowl, and keep adding water. ...

Now that I have been shaving for a while my lather techniqhe is producing the volume and type of lather that I want Unfortunately it is not producing the temprature of lather that I want. I start with soaking my brush in very hot water but by the time I load my brush and build the lather in the bowl (or on my face) I get room temprature lather. Is there a way to get nice hot lather for at least ...

I'm not sure I have a hang of this brush & soap business yet. I face lather, and the lather in the brush is fine for the first pass as far as I can tell. However, by the time I make it to the second pass, the lather in the brush has turned into something more like suds than lather. I've tried adding more water or soap (depending on the day), but neither seems to work. Should I add more water ...

As promised, below are pics of the different grips you can use with the brush, as well as pictures of it's initial lather. The one liner is - this sucker is an absolute rock star. I'll submit - it is the "king" of all soap brushes - it sure went to town on my puck of floris in no time flat. Grips (note: I have very large hands) .... The "Pencil" - rest the edge of the bottom...

I "graduated" this week and have been shaving everyday in the morning as opposed to the night before since I am not taking an hour to shower and shave anymore (it's more like 35 minutes or so). However, to conserve time I started face lathering where I had been bowl lathering before. How do you gents keep your lather warm when you face lather? Do they sell scuttles just for the brush and is it...

So here's my question (or rather questions) for the fray. I've kind of grown used to using pre-shave oil before applying shave cream. It seems to make the lather go on smoother and keeps the razor from catching on my skin. Anway, I just got a very, very nice brush that I ordered from Classic Shaving (well, it's nice by my standards, anyway -- Rooney Super Badger, medium size). And...

Well ... this morning I tried taking it alot slower ... and used a homemade scuttle (poured boiling water into a cup and set my lather mug inside the second mug) and it worked great! Really really relaxing and smooth shave. Still not the closest ... but thats to be expected ... so I've heard. The only bad thing is ... it seems my face is breaking out alot more at first here, anyone else ...

Finally I bought the big jar (500ml) of this cream. The first time I used it (yesterday) I let it sit on the face for 3 mins before I shaved. Now this is a nice freezing experience! Without rinsing I lathered the Proraso cream. It did ruin the lather though (lotion creamy) but it was a nice shave afterall. Now today I used it again but now I rinsed the cream away, drying ...

Paid pumpers ramp up their attacks -> volume increases -> new shares are dumped on the market -> paid pumpers disappear -> volume decreases Rinse, lather, repeat. Only problem for them is this used to at least cause a temporary rise in price, whereas now it doesn't, reflecting the fact that millions of new shares are being dumped on the market. Yawn.

He applies lather like I apply chocolate icing on cakes. You know you have enough when the excess just keeps falling off everyone time you try to put more on!
