You gotta love Scottish thinking .. A major International company was looking to hire someone for an important position, so they interviewed dozens of applicants and narrowed their search down to three people from different parts of the world. In an attempt to pick one of them, they decided to give them all the same question to answer within 24 hours, and the one with the...

Motivated by the collection of lateral thinking puzzle books I've collected for a while, here are a few of my own. These require a lot of yes/no questions. The solution cannot typically be deduced just by looking at the problem (if there are multiple solutions, it is probably the hardest one to think of) so you've gotta keep asking. I don't know how hard these will be or how well they are worded...

You have 30 gold coins but one is counterfeit and lighter than a real coin. The only equipment you have is a simple pair of balance scales. What is the least number of weighings necessary to discover the counterfeit coin?

I'd answer the questions, but Chridd basically got it. How many people joined just to post in my thread? Thanks, guys. No one ID'd the explosive, unless they didn't bother to make a post to confirm its identity. Good enough to be spoiled, though. Spoiler for problem 3 below. Spoiler: The man was driving his car to work and was involved in an accident. He didn't have his seatbelt ...

Think of a way Fev can get his 8 goals, be creative please, he needs some lateral thinking. He'll definitely be reading this . . . we all know he gets onto BF if only to vote in the BigFooty medal and give himself 5 every time. Now. Here's my suggestion. Whenever someone takes a mark inside the 50, Fev makes sure he's the closest player, then the marking player falls over like he'...

Well here we go, after roughly 8 months of ups and downs (mostly downs : / ), my car is finally complete and running. I spent a couple months of basically nothing trying to figure out what the problem was, thinking that it was electrical, maybe something wrong with the harness or the ECU to find out that the timing was off and the heads were damage. Well now thats back together, and thanks to ...
