how come i dont hear the giants going after laroche? i think he'd be a great fit for the giants. he has pop 25 hrs, his average is so-so around .275-.280, and he's a great fielder, he was 1st in the NL in fielding percentage last year (.999). thoughts?

Still thinks its a good chance he signs here. It would be great for him and Braves IMO. Don't go to another loser club LaRoche, and don't try to piggyback on a Yanks, Red Sox Wagon. We luv you here.

Now that LaRoche is officially a FA, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be that bad to give him the 3 year deal he wants. Let's say we give him 21 million over 3 years... That's a not a terrible contract at 7mil per year if Adam would take it. The only thing that concerns me is that he would block Freeman once he is ready to come up, but we could simply trade Adam when Freeman is ready. This ...

The Braves' arbitration decisions are in, thanks to a tweet from David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constituation. They've offered arbitration to Type A relievers Rafael Soriano and Mike Gonzalez, but not to Type B first baseman Adam LaRoche. Just posted on mlbtraderumors.

David O'Brien reports via Twitter that the Braves did not offer free agent first baseman Adam LaRoche salary arbitration. LaRoche likely would have cost more that $7 million for next year if he went through arbitration, so the Braves situation had to be money-related. LaRoche was spectacular after coming to Atlanta last year, hitting .325 with 12 homers and 40 RBI in just 212 at-bats, so ...

Quote: In an interview with WFAN last week, SI.coms Jon Heyman said the Mets are not considering LaRoche among their potential options for first base. http://www.metsblog.com/2009/11/25/buzz-the-braves -and-adam-laroche/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_mediu m=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+metsblogfeed+%28MetsBl og.com%29

Braves .MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports it's unlikely the Atlanta Braves will re-sign 1B Adam LaRoche . The Braves are probably unwilling to offer him more than a one-year deal worth around $7 million or less, and other teams will probably offer multiyear deals. If they do let him walk, it would be funny if they somehow managed to trade for him again mid-...

He is a type B free agent that was not offered arbitration, so the Sox would not have to give up a draft pick to sign him. He has been quietly and remarkably consistent, always posting numbers around .275/25/85, a career .355 OBB, and has had an OPS under .800 exactly once, never below .775. He will probably come cheaper than a Matsui. Not as cheap as Thome might, but he is only 30 and...

I have read a couple of stories regarding Nashua Police Officer Peter LaRoche. Officer LaRoche sustained a shoulder injury during a foot chase Tuesday which also turned out to be an arterial tear. He is currently in serious condition in a Boston hospital. We should all pray Officer LaRoche makes a full recovery.

the next braves first baseman and the next braves left fielder this year? Add closer on this one as well. Here are my choices: 1. first base......Adam Laroche 2. Left field.......Xavier Nady 3. Closer......Billy Wagner. I do believe that this will do it and as far as setup guy....The Aussie.

Just curious if anyone has him on the radar as a cheap alternative at first. I would love to have LaRoche back (or trade for GONZO) and maybe not popular with everyone else but I'd like to have Dye back too (since we aren't getting in to the Holliday/Bay sweepstakes). BUT in the case that we are unable to unload a big contract held by Lowe/Vasquez ... Thames would be a good guy to plug in to...

Lets assume a few things for the Braves in 2010. 1. The Braves let LaRoche walk. 2. The Braves feel that Heyward is ready and they play him in RF at the beginning of the season. 3. The Braves are able to sign Mark DeRosa. If all this holds true, where do you think the Braves would play DeRosa. Do you play him in LF? Or would it be better to play him at 1B in 2010, and if he is signed for ...

It seems that we have interest in the following players: Dejesus, Dye, Laroche, Byrd, Derosa, Willingham, Cameron (in no particular order). Of all these players, to me, its obvious that the best sign would be for Derosa. We would have flexibility at 1st base with him Prado (I'd like Mccann to get some work there as well). He has also proven to be serviceman at 3b for Chippers mandatory 30...

Just reading that one of the side effects of accutane (not sure how many things its used for, but I used it for acne treatment as a teenager) is that it causes IBD including Crohn's. Looks like there are a lot of lawsuits against the maker Hoffmann-LaRoche. So I'm wondering how many here have taken Accutane in the past? I'm not suggesting it causes everyones crohns, but I wonder if the ...
