It doesn't happen often, but enough to be minorly annoying. It usually happens when an app that demands a high amount of memory fails. The app forces closed, then the Home screen stays in Landscape mode when the keyboard is hidden. I can open and close the phone to force a reset, but any new application will immediately go into Landscape mode. The only solution I have found to cure this power...

For whatever reason, my iPAQ 210 keeps switching in landscape mode after a soft reset. I manually switch back in portrait mode but then the issue is that the directional pad is all screwed up: the up/down buttons behave like left/right and up/down like left/right. This is making me crazy ! Is there any way to stop the iPAQ switching in landscape mode after a reset ? I do have selected ...

Why support so few apps the landscape mode as alternative orientation? It's only 2 lines of code in the stage assistant. It's not only a matter of sense if landscape is really needed for an app. It's a matter of been better and cooler than other phones. Code: if (stageController.setWindowOrientation) stageController.setWindowOrientation("free");

I have an app that normally runs in portrait mode only, using R_AVKON_STATUS_PANE_LAYOUT_EMPTY in the rss file to hide the status pane. I'm now working on an updated version that runs in landscape mode. However, with the same rss file, there are status bars both above and below the application area that I can't get rid of. The top one contains the application name and network indicator, the ...

Anyone else have this problem? In my brand new iPhone 3GS, about 60% of the time, the screen will not switch to landscape mode when I turn the iPhone, no matter what angle... Is this an issue with the accelerometer? Should I be looking at getting a replacement? Thanks so much!

pocketnow.com refers to XDA Rotastrain, over at XDA-developers, has released another fantastic hack for HTC Sense, formerly labeled TouchFLO 3D 2.5. This time, he’s somehow managed to add landscape support for the popular UI. Users of Sense have been waiting a long time for landscape to make it into the mix; some even avoid using 2.5 due to lack of landscape support. Previously, sliding out ...

I'm trying to find a car mount that lets me use the phone in landscape mode (Better for the new GMaps with navigation). But I can't find anything on the net. Any suggestion? Can I use the one from Verizon for the Droid?

Yes I have, and when I turn it back on it seems to work fine. But then after using the phone for a bit - txting, games, etc. it becomes 'sketchy' again. Thanks again. Dell XPS Windows Vista...

Check your hardware buttons settings- I was once playing around with the landscape mode in Opera and/or might have even been fiddling with AEButton settings- and ended up resetting in landscape mode like you. I even went ahead and hardresetted the device running one of my Spb Backups-but that didn´t help either. I was furious. Then I accidentally checked the hardware button settings and found one...

Are you running a custom theme? If so, see if they've issued an update created using Theme Builder 5.0, the new tool that allows theme developers to develop for OS 5.0 (without the white lines). If yours hasn't updated take a look in the Themes forums... there are tons of great themes available that work great with 5.0. Good luck.

As far as I know, and have encountered myself: Nokia 5800 firmware V31 supports landscape mode for Nokia maps beta 3.03. V30 does not. Just checked my Maps version: it is also V3.03.09wk35.b07. With FW V31 + beta, auto landscape mode is working on my 5800. (Testing combination V30 + Maps beta 3.03: sorry, too much trouble for me .....) So, just install FW V31 (or wait until it ...
