I've been living in this rented property for nearly a year now. My contract is due for renewal on the 15th December. My landlady this past year has been borderline irritating, visits me over and above what I would consider to be average (every two months or so, sometimes more) takes a bit too much interest in my personal life. Hassles me over sorting out the garden etc....

I've been asked to advise my landlady of the cost/benefits of the following digital options as we are currently struggling to receive signals throughout the house. Theres a lounge and four bedrooms which need to be covered and the options are Freeview/Freesat/Virgin/Sky. If i did a pro's and con's each by each i'd be grateful if people could correct me where i'm wrong and answer any ...

Hi folks, I played a gig at a pub last night with a fiddler friend for the first time (although I play quite a few barn dances / ceilidhs with another group). The landlady has a licence for two musicians, so we're restricted to permutations of two instruments from the following: low whistle, high whistle, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, djembe (with occasional vocals). We played a mix of folk and ...

Hi everyone, I have a quick question I'm a student lodger, and have been renting a room with the live-in landlady since 05 Sept 2009. Due to unforeseen circumstances (moving in with mum as she has to move to new house), I'll be moving on the 17th January, after giving notice on 17th December. One thing that I had totally missed (mainly because in the agreement it states the landlord may ...

Hi We were served with a s21 notice on the 3rd december (requiring us to leave by the 8th feb) after a stupid disagreement with our landlady over my husband taking 125 from the rent to pay for work he did for her and which she had not paid - this issue has now been resolved and full rent & invoice have been squared up, however landlady is still wanting us out. a couple of days after ...
I live in a flat that started to get serious condensation issues on the windows when the weather turned cold, its not even warm in the flat! The landlady told us she was told by the managing agents its just a matter of opening windows, having heating and a humidifier on (she has provided). But this has not stopped black spores coming up from the skirting boards and up the corners of all external ...

> My lease is going to finish on Jan. 31st 2010. Ten days ago (Dec. 4th 2009), since I didn't have any notice from my landlady so far, I tried to call her, I left a message saying that I would like to stay in the apt and I'll continue paying on a month by month basis. I know I shouldn't do it, but I don't have my landlady?s address so I called her even for this reason. ...

It is important to keep in touch with the tenants. I live near my rentals, but have heard of people using management companies that charge thrut he roof for everything. And try to get the rent ; it comes in spurts. As soon as new tenants move in, i would insist that they have your number and you have theirs. Call them every month or two just to check in. That way at least it appears as if you ...
