Hi, just wondering how you find out if your LO is lactose intolerant? My DH is but only found about 2 years ago (he's 30!) and my LO is showing similar signs of discomfort and tummy problems. I'm wondering how likely it is that Oliver has it too. Can't get in touch with HV atm so if anybody could shed some light i'd be grateful. X x X x X

I've been checking out all the different types of protein supp, and I notice ON says their 100% whey contains very little lactose. I am not diagnosed as lactose intolerant, but milk and dairy cause me problems so I stay away from dairy. For those out there who also have digestive issues like this, has this type of whey caused problems for you? I'd really love some optinions on this....

Hi guys! I was currently lactose intolerant, but I am trying to bulk up. So i started searching for a weight gain protein and noticed some of them have milk in it. I could handle a small amount of dairy product....and I can also take some lactase pills before. So can anyone list some weight gain protein powders that have a low amount of lactose in it. Thank you !

I just read a post on another site where a girl is claiming that she is lactose intolerant because she was not breastfeed as a baby. Is that even possible? I'm trying not to judge, but it just doesn't sound right to me. Can someone please help me with this?

If you are lactose intolerant, have crohns, and you drink milk, are the reactions more intense?? My doctor says he thinks I'm lactose intolerant and he found out in december which I think is BS, (but maybe it's not) cuz (I think) nobody can go that long without realizing it and he wants me to see an Allergen or whatever they are called. And I get hives when I eat pineapple. just thought I ...

A friend has 9 month old twins who up until recently were breastfed but well-established on solid foods as well. Then the whole family came down with gastroenteritis and both girls now have temporary lactose intolerance and have been put on lactose-free formula as they can't tolerate breastmilk. My friend is feeling very upset at the thought of this being the end of breasfeeding, but can't ...

I'm lactose intolerant and I really don't like my lattes made with soy milk. Particularly since soy milk that most cafes use is so gross. Are there any cafes in Manhattan that serve lactose free (cow's) milk? The stores all sell lactose free milk, so why the cafes all look at me like I just landed from another planet when I ask about it? Any suggestions are appreciated!

This may not be the place to post this but...anyone have some good sources for recipes that don't use milk, whipping cream, butter or sour cream? I tried using (tofu, vinegar, canola oil, lemon juice and sugar for sour cream sub)and it worked ok but I need more sources for other things. Wish I could find soy-based whipped cream...is there such-a-thing or a way to make it?

Tried to bttt the old thread, but it was too old. I usually don't buy into the cow milk alternatives. My son drinks soymilk because of a mild lactose intolerance. I've never been too fond of it over my good old skim milk. However, they were sampling almond milk at HT Saturday and I tried it. OMG...soooo good. And they have coupons for 75 cent off a half gallon of it at HT so I bought some ...
