Just been tested for allergies and found to be intolerant to cow's dairy. What can i replace whey for, to use as my post workout drink? Are there certain whey proteins on the market that are much lower in lactose than others and ok to use for someone like me?, what does anyone know about the 'vyotech' goat whey on the market? or could i get away with just having a carb drink ...

I was watching Good Eats last night...I LOVE the Food Network :D and there was a very cool episode about why and how we become lactose in tolerant, why yogurt is amazing, and then went on to make yogurt...reminded me of the thread on the subject. Alton explains it so well. I could never do the explaination justice so I'll post the links. The first link is about lactose in tolerant and it ...

i know, i know. "you'd feel sick, dummy". but are all reactions the same? my sister gets really itchy when she has milk, but i drank milk all the time when i was small. but now, my mouth gets itchy also and i'm not sure why. i still drink milk regularly and cereal just wouldn't taste the same without it.

It was seriously the strangest thing. I could eat all the dairy I wanted my whole pregnancy. Before and after the pregnancy, I get sooo sick on just the tiniest bit of milk. Anyone else have this or know why? I'm really interested to find out what happens next time...but that'll hopefully be a while.

I just discovered (in the worst way) last night that I'm lactose intolerant now. I'm so upset. I LOVE milk, yogurt, cheese, ice cream and all the other good stuff that has lactose in it. Last week Friday I had a bowl of cereal and a glass of milk with it for breakfast. About 20 mins later I had the worst tummy ache EVER! A couple of hours later I had awful diarrhea. Last night I ate a ...

Yes...I just realized for sure yesterday that this pregnancy has made me lactose intolerant. I ate ice cream one day and didn't feel very good afterwards and didn't think much about it. Then, yesterday, I had a big glass of chocolate milk and ended up with a stomach ache afterwards. I used to be lactose intolerant when I was younger. However, I slowly became able to have milk products ...

hi my first one ( who is 3 1/2 now) is a confrimed loactose intolerant ( same as his dad). He was on Lf and he was brilliant on it. b ut... it wont actually do your bay any harm if baby isnt intolerant to lactose, however you are taking an important sugar out of the diet and their body will not learn to break it down just making it difficult later on, and you could actually make your baby ...

I am wondering if ever since my pregnancy, I am now lactose intolerant. I never drank milk really, but tried to while pregnant, gave me awful issues. Cheese and cream sauce never bother me, but I think ice cream, cream cheese and other dairy things might, bloating within the hour. So was bloating your only symptom or should there be more. Also ...

TMI For me, its explosive diarrhea within 20 minutes or half an hour of eating. I have never had an official diagnosis but I know I have issues with certain foods, like clam chowder because of the heavy cream that is usually used. I also at one point was eating grilled cheese & french fries almost every day for lunch & was having a bad reaction to the ...

That's great jt, that you're figuring all of this out. I applaud you for making the effort to determine what messed you up in the first place. I have found IBS to be trial and error. By now I know what works for me but like you I do tend to indulge and sometimes eat more than I should or eat foods that mess me up. I wish I was was strong now as I was about 10 years ago. Back then I kept a food...
