I have just discovered that, when you upgrade the virtual machine hardware to 7 on a Windows 2008 Server x64 it doesn´t change to LSI Logic SAS and VMXNET3. Can this be changed in a rather painless way or am I stuck with this?

( virtual devices for scsi0 , scsi1, scsi2 , scsi3 and ethernet0 - ethernet9 can be changed by editing the parameter in the vmx. But this is not painfree - if you change the nic to vmxnet3 you probably get another phantom-nic that must be removed again. Also vmxnet3 only makes sense in a few scenarios so I would not change that just because vmxnet3 is newer. ...

Hello everyone, Well once again I revert to the wisdom of this forum in the hopes that my sanity can be saved! :P I am currently attempting to get a LSI Logic MegaRAID SAS 8204ELP detected and working in a CentOS 5.3 installation. I have been trying for the past week and have yet to manage this. In LSI's web site http://www.lsi.com/storage_home/prod...le=EN&remot e=1 ...

Hi all, I have for the past few day's been trying to set-up a "LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1068 PCI-X Fusion-MPT SAS" raid controller on my CentOS 5.3 system. I have tried everything but the HD's/array are never made available. If I start-up MegaRAID Storage Manager a "no server's" error is returned. fdisk -l only show's up HD's hooked up to my SATA controller. I have downloaded and ...

Dear Jeanfor and Nano Warp, I thank you very much for your support, but I couldn't solve the problem anyway. There is no possibility to access the controller, either by BIOS either by feeding it with its drivers during the installation process.
