Does anyone know if the str dn1000 will send out a signal to the LFE output when in stereo mode? Im waiting for my avr to get here and trying to figure out if I want to use the LFE or line in connection. I listen to lots of music as well as watch DVDs. I just don't want my woofer to sound weak when I'm listening to music.

Hey guys, this is a pretty simple question but it's tough to search the forum for "LFE", so here you go: When hooking up a PSW110, is it better to use the LFE in, or the L and R line-in jacks? I've got an L and R line-out on my AVR. Should I run two cables from one to the other (left and right)?

I installed F12 64 bit on my Dell Precision M90 today, which has an intel hda sound card. The sound seems to be very loud and is coming from the LFE (subwoofer). I couldn't see the LFE control in the volume control so I downloaded gmixer and turned the LFE down. But whenever I change the volume, the LFE slides back up to max again and it gets very loud again. Tried alsamixer too (dropped ...

I want to run two micropro 1000's off of my Onkyo SR806 which has 1 LFE output. Can I just run one RCA to the LFE-in of one sub, and then chain another RCA from the Line Out of that one into the LFE in on the second sub? That is to ask, does the line-out pass whatever is put into the LFE input?

Hooking a sub up without LFE or high level inputs Greetings, I have a quick question: I'm about to buy a used HSU STF-2. It has a sub-in and high level inputs. I am not using this for a HT setup - I plan to use it with my computer paired with powered monitors running out of a Zero DAC which has R/L RCA outs. Would I be able to hook the ...

Hi all- I have read here that it is best to use both inputs on the subwoofer, by means of using a Y jack. I am waiting on the sub to arrive, and want to buy this Y jack before it gets here. My problem is that I do not know the configuration of the jack itself. Are there 3 male adapters, or 2 male 1 female? Is there a best kind to buy i.e. gold connectors, wire type etc.? The dummy at ...

Watcher, connecting both of the sub inputs does feed voltage into both and results in a slightly higher volume level for a given setting of the receiver sub output control, but this is at most a minor benefit. Your receiver almost certainly can supply plenty of voltage into one input. Use the single input and return the Y connectors for a refund.

I'm looking to add a sub to my LSi15's to extend the bass. I mainly listen 2 Ch which means using "Direct" or "Pure Audio" mode from my AVR (the DSP modes have poor 2 Ch SQ). Because of this my LFE is disabled in 2 Ch. Looks like I have 3 choices for hookup: 1) Use a Y splitter from my AVR pre-outs. Question: I think this will end up "doubling" the bass below the crossover frequency. Is that...

Very fun movie with a pretty good lfe track. I was feeling it in several scenes are our local theater. If you gotta appease the wife and kids it's worth a trip. I found the movie pretty funny. Much better than UP IMO

WOW. This looks and sounds better than I have ever experienced. Still one of my all time favorite action movies. PQ has been noticeably improved and the remastered audio is excellent. LFE is incredible throughout most of the movie. Whether you've seen it or not, it is highly recommended.

I prefer to run my speakers as large, and no sub, to eliminate any AVR filtering. I use the front pre-out L+R to run the sub, PSW1000. Works great, your results may differ.
