LCD monitors - Topic profile

I am looking to replace my old Crt with an LCD monitor but find the market very confusing with so many choices. I gather that for photo editing an IPS panel is best but after that I'm stuck. I have upto £300 to spend, though would prefer less!! Would be very grateful for recommendations as to models to consider along with suggested specifications that would be suitable. Thanks.

Grace's old LCD monitor is on the verge of dying, but Grace wants a PS3 too, so Grace needs an LCD monitor which has DVI port and HDCP (to connect to the PS3 with HDMI-to-DVI cable) and it must be cheaper than $200 cuz Grace's very poor. Could anyone recommend Grace any?
