Complicated title, simple enough request! I moved from NTL to O2 ADSL (moved house). I was about to buy a switch, when i saw my old cable Netgear wireless router sitting in a box. Can i plug my ADSL router into a LAN port on my cable router and get it to act purely as a switch? no wireless connections, or routing, just a standard 4-port switch? My guess would be to disable DHCP as a starting ...

I have a small lan with two desktops connected via UTP to a wireless router with 4 port switch and one laptop having wireless connection. my wireless router is also connected to two adsl modems. I dont have RAID solution to protect my data, instead I do backups on different drives.
