A typical NY'er would probably go to see a movie. Not that glamorous, but very true to form. I'd also suggest going to Stone Rose in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle for a drink. Very expensive, but beautiful view, grown-up room and I've never seen a line. Or browsing a late night bookstore in the Union Square neighborhood or near Astor Place.
