Coming from Philly, we're debating about taking the train from here to Rutland and then connecting on "The Bus" from Rutland to Killington. From what I gather, it's a $2 fare per person to Killington. The overall travel time would be longer via train, but not by so much - and a lot more comfortable on a train. Here's where I am getting "The Bus" information. killington....

Perfect conditions today (Monday) at Killington: everything was groomed smooth, and softened up very nicely. Warm, but quite windy. Got in 8 runs off the triple and 3 up to the summit for a bit over 8k by which time I finally had to ski back down to the base for dinner plans. Might have dodged a bullet though with access: heard from a reliable source (Peter K) that triple will be running ...

Trails were Sherburne Pass, Pico Link, Long Trail to Killington, Link to Killington summit. All were moderately wet with some muddy patches, but not obstructive. Good boots, and suitable jacket currently the only real requirement. Forecast promised sun, but cloud ceiling stayed at ~3900'; therefore, no views, but montane forest best experienced in muted light with moisture. A fine ...

I would love to book a trip to Killington for the week between Christmas & New Years. Trouble is all my inquiries are coming up with quotes between $2000-15,000. I was hoping to keep a condo rental below $2000. Looking for a 2-3 bedroom for 5 nights (4 adults, 2 kids). Would prefer a condo with a common indoor pool area for the kids (but will forgo that if need be). Anyone have insights...

We are 2 couples in our late 20's interested in traveling to Vermont for the first time. We would really like to stay in a cabin with views, and for the location to have a variety of activites such as snowmobiling, tubing, skiing (although we are beginners level), shopping and dining/nightlife. Should we stay in Stowe or Killington? Any suggestions would be ...

We've consistently liked the Golden Eagle for normal type motel rooms. They have nice grounds with easy hiking trails, good location, nice breakfasts included, etc... Just in case that's of interest.
I have always skied various resorts in Vermont, only once dipping into NH to ski Sunapee because it was part of my All-East pass at the time, but how are the other resorts in the state? I already bought a season pass to Killington because I live in NYC and driving beyond K-Mart is way too many hours in the car but I want to plan at least one trip to a resort in NH. I was checking out Cannon and...

First trip to New Hampshire with our friends -- seeking ski resort recommendations in NH. What's an ideal area to stay in? We have enjoyed resorts in Maine and Vermont -- Sunday River, Stowe, Killington, Stratton, etc.

Sorry I can't answer your questions. I would suggest contacting the Rutland Chamber of Commerce, hopefully they can help or send you in the right direction.
