Kidney failure...when to PTS? My Ebony has recently been diagnosed with kidney failure. She is still eating reasonably well (especially leafy greens and 'wild' food from my garden) but is very skinny. She tends to sit in her cat igloo most of the time, but is still able to hop to her litter tray to toilet. I presume she must have some level...

Hi all I am new to this site and just really need some support. I rescued an older yorkie about 2 years ago that was abused. She has been the highlight of my life for the last 2 years. She has been there with me through a separation and has traveled everywhere with me. Now she has kidney failure. She started vomiting on Saturday and on Sunday was just laying around. I took her to my vet first ...

A couple months ago all the blood work was normal. His kidneys were always a concern because he had a kidney stone and calcium oxalate stones. Now my baby has kidney failure. I'm totally shocked and devastated. This was something both the vet and I weren't expecting for years. I'm thinking something caused this because otherwise it doesn't make sense. I once had a cat that had kidney disease...

Hello, My male rabbit has been diagnosed with kidney failure. On Saturday morning I noticed him with strange behaviour: long time just sitting in litterbox. Listening to his stomach it sounded a little like gas. I started with simethicon and cisapride. In course of the morning he developed severe gas, and I took him to an emergency weekend vet. The vet also noticed severe gas mainly in ...

The highest consumption category was also associated with increased risk of an annual ...

Siamie got sick Friday night. She would urinate a little bit and then start vomiting. We debated over a trip to the emergency animal hospital, which is a good 40 minute drive, and decided against it. She hates to travel and we felt the stress would be too much for her. We took her to the vet first thing in the morning and her bloodwork showed the beginning stages of kidney failure. The vet ...

Hi! My dad is a diabetic and kidney failure patient. At present, he is doing peritoneal dialysis 4 times a day. His blood glucose level is alway unstable, causing poor outflow for his peritoneal dialysis. To combat the problem of poor outflow, he has to use a higher glucose level of solution which will bring up his blood glucose level. A vicious cycle is set in as a result. Now he is on ...
