Hey guys. I had posted earlier about hard shifting. Thanks for all of your responses. I had investigated the kickdown cable earlier, but based on the DIY I figured it wasnt for my car because my setup was different. The kickdown cable was nice and tight when I checked it. Here is why I thought the DIY wasnt for my car.... It said the kickdown cable is the one by itself lower in the...

TH400 isn't kicking down. Using a Lokar kickdown switch. Replaced the micro switch thinking it might be bad. Now assuming the switch that Lokar sent me is good, I'm thinking this might be a tranny issue. Is this an easy fix if it is? Edit: apparently my detent solenoid on the valve body may be bad. Easy fix?

Hello again all, I have a CX25IE Pallas, with a frayed old kickdown cable. I'd post a picture if I could, but I'm away from the car at the moment. To all those CX geniuses out there, what kind of job is it to replace this cable, and where would I be best sourcing a replacement from? Also, I've recently moved to Canberra, so Denton at European Autocare in Penrith is a bit of hike now. Are ...

Car started misfiring and idling rough. Brought to mechanic, had tune-up, new sparkplug cables, new brake booster...now the damn thing won't kickdown when I punch it. I'll be on the freeway doing 65 and when I press all the way down, it just stays in same gear. Didn't do this before I brought it in. I swear the engine sounds muffled when I punch it - I have headers, flowmasters ...

my trans has and electronic kickdown with the switch on the gas pedal. the switch on the gas pedal has power and is sending power down to the trans like its supposed to and when its supposed to, however the kickdown does not work unless speed is under 35 and even then it will only down shift 3-2 not to low gear like it should. and there is no passing gear kickdown. does the module that the wire ...

Hi All, I am currently experiencing a problem with my 1995 c200 auto It only becomes apparent when driving hard... eg overtaking, or trying to make some rapid progress. for instance if I am doing 60 on the motorway, and I need a quick blast of speed up to 70, I will use the kickdown to try and get a build up of speed, however, the car jump to 4500rpm and...

I have a 2007 Ford Focus s with the 2.0 liter Automatic. I did a quick WOT at 25 and the tires chirped is that normal because it surprised the heck out of me these cars really do move along pretty good.

Your ECU just probably got thrown off a bit and ordered the shift too suddenly causing it to slam into the next gear instead of letting it slip a little before engaging fully. Get an aggressive tune and it will probably happen a lot more often.
