Hello again all, I have a CX25IE Pallas, with a frayed old kickdown cable. I'd post a picture if I could, but I'm away from the car at the moment. To all those CX geniuses out there, what kind of job is it to replace this cable, and where would I be best sourcing a replacement from? Also, I've recently moved to Canberra, so Denton at European Autocare in Penrith is a bit of hike now. Are ...

Car started misfiring and idling rough. Brought to mechanic, had tune-up, new sparkplug cables, new brake booster...now the damn thing won't kickdown when I punch it. I'll be on the freeway doing 65 and when I press all the way down, it just stays in same gear. Didn't do this before I brought it in. I swear the engine sounds muffled when I punch it - I have headers, flowmasters ...

my trans has and electronic kickdown with the switch on the gas pedal. the switch on the gas pedal has power and is sending power down to the trans like its supposed to and when its supposed to, however the kickdown does not work unless speed is under 35 and even then it will only down shift 3-2 not to low gear like it should. and there is no passing gear kickdown. does the module that the wire ...

For those of you running this setup. What are doing about the kickdown thats usually on the carb? I'm using throttle by wire so it's more of a mystery. Will a full manual ValveBody solve this issue? http://www.highperformancepontiac.co...all/index.h tml

Hi, We have just bought a 2000 plate ML270CDI and it runs great apart from it won't kickdown when you want to acelerate. It has a auto tiptronic box and we took it to a vehicle electrician today and they put it on the computer and it came back with Glow plug malfunction, Intake channel shutoff malfunction and a Accelerator pedal position sensor 1 voltage to high. When the ...

Hey guys, I have a TH400 at home in the shop. What is the best or correct ways to see if the kickdown switch/solenoid that is working. Do not have tranny cover off, so I have the 2 contacts on the outside. How can I check this. Can I manually force it to click or continuity test? How would you properly do a continuity test? Apply 12 volts? Or is 12 volts to much? Help plz. Hate to ...

I need to check kickdown switch. the wire which leads from it to the kickdown solenoid valve does not give voltage when the switch is pressed. so, most probably the switch is bad. What is the procedure to check the switch under the gas pedal? must I remove it out of the vehicle (from outside or from inside the car)? Do i have to remove the floor carpet to get it out? thanks a lot.

Mine came off the carb years ago. Now I want to put it back on. Where does it go to and from. I know the carb and the tranny. But where...Also does it really make that much of a difference? I havent noticed a big deal but I thought about getting it back to OE.

Hi Driving home from work in rain today, after heavy accelerations and 100mph for some time, I suddenly could not accelerate... the car would only decelerate. No kickdown, no acceleration, but lots of rpm (up to 4500). Off the highway I could accelerate almost normally in W mode, but in S mode, the rpms would go up way up with almost no acceleration of the car (as if I had ...

I doubt it will work, I'd guess that the block on a 302/351W is not going to be as tall as a 351M/400. Maybe with some mods it might work but I doubt it is bolt on.

Hi Citrolero, Long time since we've heard from you! Buenas dias! That was my understanding too - not a difficult job, but a lot of stuff to pull apart. I'l have to do it one day I guess. The cable just slips in to a fork as I understand it in the top of the gearbox, Cheers,
