Guys, it appears that even after reading everyone elses woes with the kick start kit I have created my own. I was VERY careful in the disassemble and the installation of the Kick gearing and shaft, made sure I had the spring correct etc. Then when I reinstalled the primary drive assy and then the clutch sleeve hub. so i think its true to say about all motorcycles in general...once you fix something something else goes wrong....well my kick start moves only about 2 inches....and thats it...i also F*ckd up pretty bad i think..i put 20w 50 oil in...and juss now read that it takes 10w 40....i should drain then add 10w 40 correct???

I am currently watching 2 on eBay one a 2001 rm250 kick start assembly not the kick start lever but the inner mechanism and a 00 rm250 kick start assembly I looked at the part numbers for my 1999 rm the 00 and 01 and the numbers seem to be the same but I'm sketchy about it for some reason, so could someone reference the number for me or have the knowledge of knowing it will fit? thanks in ...

all a kill switch does is disable the spark, thus causing the engine to die. About the only thing you did was wear out your right leg and possibly flood the carb. No real damage.

You may want to take the side cover and top end apart to check for damage. That doesn't sound good!
