Is there a means of detecting a software-based keystroke logger (i.e., a Trojan or malware, as opposed to one physically attached to your computer)?

All, I'm using the gnu emacs editor under windows 7.  I would like to bind a particular keystroke combination to an editor command.  That combination is "control key" + ")"  However, it appears this keystroke combination is being swallowed by the OS somehow.  Using emacs's "view-lossage" feature indicates that it is never seeing the key.  This happens even in safe mode...

SPFPC V4 on XP SP3  - 1 new post Read thread in new window

SPFPC worked fine on W/2000. My new pc has XP Pro SP3. It seems to run but eventually my keystrokes don't do anything. No response to any keystroke. In Task Manager I see ntvdm.exe using cpu as I hit the keys. The time on the screen is not incrementing. This is an old version of SPFPC and I'd rather not have to pay for an upgrade. Any ideas? Thanks, Joe

A simple keystroke error by a pilot on a laptop computer put the lives of 275 people at risk by causing an Emirates jet to scrape its tail along a runway at Melbourne Airport during take-off. The Airbus A340's first officer mistakenly entered the plane's take-off weight as 262.9 tonnes, when in fact it weighed 362.9 tonnes, the latest report by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has...
