ive been on keto for 5 days now with generally a 65/30/5 macro ive lost a few pounds but im not sure if im in ketosis my urine doesnt smell different and my breath doesnt either ive done HIIT on the second and fourth day any other way to find out besides ketostix?

A few idiots have replied to my previous threads, telling me to scratch peanuts and add almonds. But I've just heard that 1 single serving of almonds throws you out of ketosis, and I've eaten 5 in the last 2 days. Is my keto diet done for?

Burning Fat Faster While In Ketosis Hi everyone, Hope someone can answer me. If you are in ketosis you are burning your fat as energy correct? So if run two miles while in ketosis, do you burn more fat since you need more energy to move? If that is correct in theory you should burn more fat, and lose more weight.

I'm considering following the Atkins diet since our diet with the lapband is supposed to primarily be dense protein. I've lost before on the Atkins diet, but I know there are pros and cons to being in a state of ketosis. If ketosis is basically a sign that you're burning fat, is it a bad thing?? Thanks ahead of time for any feedback, good or bad.

Does getting kicked out of ketosis make you get hungry more often? I feel like I may have overdone it in the last couple days with "legal" foods, I gained a steady pound a day for 2 days in a row. How often are you long termers in ketosis at this point? How many of you have a ccll that keeps you in ketosis? In order to keep the weight off, how often do you head back into induction or owl? lol sorry, just curious. Moving to OWL, I have lost about 6 pounds after 12 days on induction. I am really eager to get this whole ketosis thing happening again. I can't remember how long it took me last time. Atkins states it takes about 48 hours. Has anyone recently started/restarted a LC diet and tested how long it took for ketosis to start?

I started a keto diet about 2 weeks ago. I'm doing M-F with no or trace carbs only and a refeed on Sat-Sun. I have done well keeping my Macros in the 55-60%fat range, 40-45% range for protein and very low (1-2%) carbs or none at all. hi guys its been a while i posted here, i have been ill for a week plus and i had to stop the d diet for a while.. am getting back on the horse tomorrow... dont know how much damage i have done, cos i have not weight myself yet but i know some damages have been done , will know how much when i go for my WI on wednesday.. so am going to take it one day at a time.

( I keep reading about DSers having stinky smells, keytosis, ect... is there any herbs or something that can help take away the smells? Makes me reflect if I can't be around anyone or have my kids say I stink about what choices I am going to make. RNY on Dec 8th, or DS on Dec 18th? ,)

( My DH assured me I never stank when I was in heavy-duty ketosis. I was nervous anyway and chewed gum or sucked on SF mints when I was in a close social situation \(make sure you don't overdo those until you find out if you're sensitive to sugar alcohols.\) ,)

I'm in ketosis b/c my sticks are turning pink, but I'm having PMS and can't get full. I'm usually like that for a couple days. Yesterday I did just what my book says, eat when you're hungry...just making LC choices every time. (Although I was DYING for a McD's Coke after getting a headache from those terrible AS's.) Day 2 of Starvation!

Hey I was curious what you guys think should be a proper amount of fat intake for a ketosis diet. I've always prefered a mainly high protein low carb diet. Not too concerned with fats as long as they come from good fats. Ok will I have started taking BCAA pre, During and Postworkout One of the Amino Acids , Leucine produces a high insulin response and therefore reduces blood sugar levels. Is it correct to say Leucine gets you into ketosis faster? Since I am eating high fat I was wondering Whats the risk of fatty acids in blood being stored by the insulin? Anyone know Cheers
