Hey Grajekk... "PEEK" (Polyether ether ketone) is used in the Cyclone engines for bearing surfaces (main bearings and spider bearing) and also used as piston rings in the high temp engines. Think of it as an ultra hard, highly chemically resistant plastic that can withstand high temps. I stumbled on this brief description: http://www.boedeker.com/peekht_p.htm

Dear all, I have been led to believe that as the borohydride group has four hydrogens, it can therefore reduce four ketone carbonyl groups (to form the secondary alcohol), i.e. giving up four hydride ions, as it were. What happens to the boron left at the end!? Is the three plus charge stabilised perhaps by three alkoxide groups (from the alcohol solvent)? Thanks, JD

What is ketone? I asked my Dr. and she said I don't have to worry about that and changed subject and I still don't know what is. Do only type 1 's get it? My meter sometimes says ketone after I test.

We have just used our blood ketone meter for the first time. Her result was 170mg/dl. Her throat hurts and her belly hurts. We used a urine test strip also and it came up close to the lowest or none but it was hard to tell the difference. Now I'm assuming that was her blood sugar and it's not set up right??? Does anyone know the ranges that are normal/non-normal?? Thanks

Equimolar amounts of the aldehyde (4-chlorobenzaldehyde) and ketone (4-bromoacetophenone) were used, coupled with excess of NaOH. Crude product obtained had a gummy consistency, green-grey colour and a slight minty smell. Recrystallization via hot Ethanol yielded a white crystal powder (odourless). Melting point has not yet been determined. I know it is not Perilla, Menthofurane, nor pulegon. ...

When it comes to ketone protocol were you taught how to do a lot of things that way you would stay away from the hospital? I called Peoria 3x on Friday because of ketones. I had never had to deal with them in a sick kid before. I kept asking the nurse what is the sign to take him to the hospital and she said, "I am teaching you how to keep him from going to the hospital. The hospital will put him...

Here are the reactions: From what i understand, BuLi in these 3 reactions acts as strong bases and deprotonates the acidic alpha proton. For the first reaction, does the product A results in an enolate? or the negative charge will stay at the alpha position? NaH is a strong base as well, so i assume it will deprotonate the second alpha hydrogen? but it's weird to have a -2 charge at the ...

OK, I started Atkins in August. I lost about 15 pounds. Once Halloween and a vacation was over I started again. I was on it for over 2 weeks and didn't lose a gosh darn pound. I even did ketone strips and they never changed color. I was very strict about what I ate and NEVER cheated but I could never change the ketone strip or lose weight. Drank my water (64oz+), ate small meals 4 times ...

Hello. All it says in the description is that it contains a "secret" beta-ketone. Many speculations have been done, and one group of people claim that it contains bk-MBDB , but others say it contains a mixture of BZP and Mephedrone . My question is if anyone has a definite answer to which beta-ketone it is? If any tests has been done, etc. Highly appreciated for any ...

I have the Precision Xtra Glucose?ketone Meter, also the One Touch Ultra Mini, and the Accu-check Aviva. I just got the Aviva in the mail and tested it against my ultra one touch. The ultra gave me 127 while the accu-chek gave me 111. Is any of these three meters known to be the most accurate,, or is this difference not a big deal? Any recommendations? Thanks. Tom

The premise of the diet is high protein (about 1- 1 1/2 gram per pound), moderate fat (about 1/2 g per lb) and low low carbs (no direct sources of carbs). During this diet, the brain goes into ketosis (it uses ketone bodies for energy-- fats) and thus the energy requirements by the body can almost all be supplied by fats (which you'll be taking in plenty of). The only activity that uses carbs ...
