Hi there. I'm in residence battle with my ex partner. Social services have been involved and done a section 37 report on both of us. They have advised in their report for shared residence if we are able to arrange such a thing amicably. Previously i have doubted this possible as he has been very difficult to deal with. But now he has decided to co-operate shared residence may be quite likely. At ...

Relations between Levi Johnston and Sarah Palin's family just got colder. Johnston, 19, says he's suing for joint custody of his 10-month-old son, Tripp, with former fiancee Bristol because her family is restricting his access to the baby. "It's not working. I'm done" he told the Insider. "It's going to have to go to court. They just finally pushed me over the edge." ...

If there has already been an order established regarding physical custody, you can change it by motion to the same Court that made the order. In order to prevail you have to first prove that there has been a change in circumstance. This means that something has changed since the time of the last order. (Tons of case law on what constitutes a change in circumstance) If the Court determines that ...

Not me, but a child in my dc's class is with dad on Mon & Tues, with mom on Wed & Thurs and they rotate weekends (Fri-Sun), which seems to work well for them. Good luck!

We have apartments and jobs very close to each other and to our kids' school. The kids live with my ex-husband, and have dinner with me two nights each week and spend every third weekend at my place. They spend most of the big "family" holidays with my ex-husband, because he has a big family and they're all really into that stuff, and they spend the other holidays with me.

So I went to court this morning regarding the custody of my children. We were given joint legal custody; I have physical custody; he gets the children every other weekend and every Wednesday. Which is exactly as I wanted it because my children are young and to go two weeks without seeing their daddy doesn't seem fair to them. Nothing was even mentioned about money, and this is where I am ...

Hi Tara, I think you need to speak to your council/housing association about getting a home of your own which will be big enough to house you and the kids. If you have proof that you are sharing residency then this will help you. How quickly you get housing is down to what's available locally. Stephanie is right that in any child benefit, child tax credits, etc, will be given to one ...
