Just spotted a SYD-LON return on JAL in July for $1844 AUD in discount economy ('Economy Trans Smart Saver'). This seems to be about $350-$500 cheaper than Cathay, Qantas or BA for similar dates... With Haneda airport (Tokyo) building a 4th runway and a new international terminal, coupled with liberalization of international flights to / from the airport starting in 2010, I was wondering: Who stands to benefit more from this, JAL or ANA? How will the airport decide how to allocate / award the new int'l slots? And what will this mean for Narita? Thoughts?
