I'm planning on preforming the J-Mod on my tranny pretty soon, so I've got some general questions about the whole thing. I've been reading in other threads and elsewhere about differences between setups as far as how hard the shifts are depending on if the springs are removed. The car is a daily driver, but I don't have too much of a problem with the shifts being pretty aggressive. The car is ...

Ok so I'm planning on doing a J-Mod on my 02 Grand Marquis and some recent questions have come to mind seeing other recent threads. So I'm asking the guys that have experience doing the J-mod and the few of you that fit into my driving habits category... I want to do the J-mod cause there are times when I want to really get on it and drive it to its limits. But, there are times when I just ...

Well i bought the intermediate plate from a gentlemen whom included a spring which he called a 1-2 bottom spring. He said that the spring we a common upgrade to tighten up the 1st to 2nd gear shifts. My question is, where does it go? I already have the valve ...

Is my only option to send in my valve body to vapauto.com and have them do it since they don't sell the actual valve bodies anymore? Or is there another place?

No offense taken!! Like I said, I wasn't sure. At first I didn't think there was a difference, then I talked to the previous owner and he said there was. I know the shop that rebuilt it but didn't bother looking into it I just took the old man's word. I was told they also increased the line pressure I'm not sure if that's considered a "police" tune or if that's just something they did. The ...

Sorry forgot to add to disconnect neg battery cable to clear PCM so it will adapt to newer drive parameters after j-mod. Blackout, the j-mod will work fine for you as described - the 275 hp level is moderate hp. It's not the j-mod but the tranny that needs to stand up to the increased level of shifts. If it's getting tired, you may not see it now, but with an aftermarket tune and nitrous, you ...
