doesn't have to be 22" necessarily; but can a modern widescreen monitor work with intel integrated graphics from say, around the year 2000 =/ I just wonder if it's designed to handle that resolution or not. Thanks,

Again this @#£$£ Dell Optiplex 760. I can't go above 1024x768 screen size. In KDE -> System Settings -> Display only VGA appears connected, while HDMI-2 appears disconnected. I've tried to add higher resolutions in the relevant section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf, but still can't see any resolution above 1024x768. In Xorg.0.log I can find this line (II) intel(0): Integrated ...

Will this play HD video? I've heard that it can, but some say it's not that well. Anyone that has this card, or seen it in action [with HD video playing] care to offer some insight?

Hello, I have installed Xubuntu 9.10 on a small PC board where there is an Integrated Graphics Chipset: Intel(R) 945GME. On board there are two physic outputs: a VGA and a LVDS connector. I must use the VGA connector to attach a screen with a resolution of 1024x748. When I use the svga driver module of Xorg the monitor work, but because the driver is a standard vesa I cannot perform ...

Hi ... just upgraded from F11 to F12 and can't get the screen resolution to at least 1024x768 (1280x1024 would be best). My monitor is not auto detected (LG Flatron 1710s) either. I tried using forcing a generic 1280x1024 LCD monitor to no avail. My profile is at: http://www.smolts.org/client/show/pu...6-0eae72626 5b3 any help would be great ... ps. tried adding the modes I ...

Yeah, I can play videos on YouTube in HD. IIRC, that's 480p(?) and 720P. It runs just fine. I haven't tried 1080p, but I would assume that it would be fine. Keep in mind, that will use a big chunk of battery, so make sure your AC adapter is nearby!

just a little update here... my situation still remains, after many days of troubleshooting I've come to this conclusion; - intel i915 drivers are the ones to use for intel KMS & framebuffer, just adding the following to lilo.conf enables this ;; Code: append = "i915.modeset=1" - no matter what combination of kernel (and/or zen patches), libdrm, mesa I use I get the SAME results in ...
