Hey there, Does anyone have an experience with insulated curtains? What are they made out of? Are they made of scary stuff we don't want in our house? Do they work? Any suggestions on which ones are good? We just got a scary high energy bill this month and it's not even winter yet! (new to us house). We try to be aware of our water & energy use but apparently we've been doing a pretty ...

Hello, Getting ready to slab the inside walls of my new build. I have used 60mm kingspan in the cavity walls. Trying to determine whether to go for a 52.5mm or a 62.5mm insulated slab? Will going for the 62.5mm slabs make a huge difference in the house? There is a significant difference in the price.. I will also be scratchcoating the walls before applying the slab ...

I will start by just throwing the Question out…......Do I need my chimney liner insulated? Now I will give some information on my install. I installed my Heartstone morgan select (which just about fits in my fireplace) in April of 08. Several of my friends consider themselves “experts” on woodburning and they all told me to just put the pipe into the opening and box of the smokebox. I didn’t ...

I have a steel insulated door about 20 to 25 years old. I cut a hole for a dead bolt wrong. Is it possible just to replace the door (slab) or do I have to replace the jam and door.

So I am working with a fairly small grow space and am using 2 EcoPlus 4" inline blowers....and these two things combined makes me worried they'll be too loud. So I am thinking about taking MDF and building a box with a hole on each side for the blower to sit in. I thought I could wrap the blower in insulation, attach the duct work then close the box up. Does anyone see any dangers in ...

Moving the kitchen fridge to the garage. It would be nice to hook up the ice maker. However the garage isn't insulated yet, so the line will be going through uninsulated walls. Do they make insulated ice maker line? Should I run a full water line to the ice maker then the small ice maker line, or should I just run the small 1/4 inch line for the ice make the whole distance? The line will go ...

My neighbor just built a 12 x 16 detached office 100 ft. behind his home. He works from home and needs to separate that part of his life! Anyway, it is 2x4 framed /insulated walls and on an 6-8" slab (integral footer). He is planning on heating with electric space heater(s) so he would prefer to not leave them on or at least on a high setting 24 x 7. What is a suitable flooring material to ...
