Hey folks.. I am getting this error every night at 4am (right about when the cron.daily runs). when it does this, it remounts the filesystem read only. In the AM I get yelled at by users. all it takes is an fsck to fix the problem, but it does it every night. I have tried to rebuild the journal by removing the has_journal flag, running an fsck, and then re-adding the journal... same problem.....

Its connected to a raid 5 fiber array. The san is indicating no issues. Its not the controller, because there are several other arrays that this system is connected to. its strange that its the same inode each time - and an inode on proc?? ---------- Post added at 11:25 AM CST ---------- Previous post was at 09:09 AM CST ---------- something else to note - doing a search for the inode...

Greetings: Suppose that I know the inode number of a file (but not the path to it) and would like to `stat' that file, can I do this without first finding a directory entry that contains that inode, assuming the process is run by root? Thanks in advance!

plus the number inode and you posted as savings is larger than the estimated $$ spent on all of preventive measures. What, may I ask, does THAT have to do with it? Also, please note that Texas serves as a reasonably good example and the story there does not support the theory of sweeping savings. http://tinyurl.com/y8agn9f
