It was wild. It was crazy. It was the outdoor party of outdoor parties. As the older, upper class mingled in the seats and box seats; the younger, wilder, middle class kids, partied on the infield. This was a yearly event at Pimlico, on the third Saturday in May. It is gone now, but I doubt it will rest in any kind of peace. Yesterday marked the first year that Pimlico banned ...

Wouldn't it be cool to have an all home-grown infield in 2011. We could have Wright, Reyes, then Ike Davis and Reese Havens, with Thole behind the plate. I know its a dream and probably won't happen but it would be sweet. 2011 Reyes Thole Wright Holliday Beltran Ike Francoeur Havens

This occurred in an NSA tournament this weekend, but I'm fairly certain the "Infield Fly Rule" is consistent across all associations. Scenario: We have first and second with 1 out. Batter hits a pop fly just behind 2nd base and Umpire announces infield fly rule. The ball is then dropped (unintentionally. The 2 bag and SS actually collided), and our runners begin to advance ...

Well, in 322 games Polanco has fielded 3B better than Youkilis in 178 games. More stupidity. One im gonna go ahead and guess you are saying he is better because of fielding % and errors. That is just a guess , but it surely wouldn't surprise anyone of that is what you are doing. And the issue isn't even who will be better. The issue is that you think its certain Polanco would be. ...

Elisbury CF Cabrerra SS Headley 3rd AGon 1st Blanks LF Venable RF xxxxxxx C Eck 2nd *Hopefully Headley is eating lots of steak and raw eggs, and can add some power.

Quote: Its worth noting that the Marlins signed infielder Danny Richar to a minor-league deal that would include a $410,000 salary. Richar, a .229 career hitter in 79 career games, could provide additional infield depth if Uggla is dealt. But the Marlins also will look hard at Emilio Bonifacio, who is batting .268 with a .350 on-base percentage in the Dominican ...

Hi there! I hope I am not repeating somebody elses suggestions too much: I like making layouts for the tracks but the existing tarmac-Arenas are qiet small: I am shure creating a bigger "parking lot" with a possibility for a VERY LONG straight and a creative infield would be great. Dandy

Quote: I have a trade that makes sense. How about trading Daniel Murphy and a combination of prospects for Adrian Gonzalez? The guy has a ridiculous contract for his production, power hitting and youth. And his Gold Glove would be perfect for the Mets' infield. Why are the Mets not looking into this at all? I love Jason Bay, but Gonzalez is under contract for two more ...

IF YOU HIT A POP-FLY RITE IN FRONT OF THE PICHER AND SHE GOES FOR IT AND MISSES IS IT REALY AN INFIELD POP-FLY RULE THAT YOU ARE OUT? Answer Hi Isis, If there are less than 2 outs and 1st and 2nd or all bases are occupied and we have a fly ball that can be caught with ordinary effort by an infielder the infield fly rule is in effect and the batter is out. The ball need not be actually ...
