We have a strange problem when indexing a large data set under Search Server Express, using our own custom search protocol handler.  Everything runs fine, until, usually, 20480 items have been indexed, and then everything stops.  The CPU usage is zero, and all running crawls indicate that they are still running.  The administration pages all still respond.  But no further indexing is seen (...

Why is my Windows Search Indexing taking weeks to complete?  I selected to rebuild and it has been at least 3 weeks.  The search funtion in Outlook doesn't work.  I have tried closing all programs and leaving my computer 24 hours.  Windows XP tablet pc.  Explorer 8 1 person needs an answer I do too

I have a linux box which stores all my videos and shares them via samba. I used to run Ubuntu with boxee on my htpc and it indexed all my movies but the windows version is only indexing 28 and no matter what i do i cant get it to find any more. It does work if i add each file manually but thats no use. I have about 280 films in one share and it indexes 28 of them. I can browse all of them ...

I am using XP SP3, and am trying to use the Indexing Options normally located in Control Panel to fix an Outlook 2007 issue and the icon is not there in Classic View. When I select Other Control Panel Options from Category View it is not there either. Nor is it under Performance and Maintenance. The Indexing Service is running. Is there a way to get it back? For a custom content-type I have the location of comment submission set to 'Display on a separate page'. Google is indexing the comment/reply pages even though I have 'Disallow: /comment/reply' in robots.txt.
