Okay, another problem from me! A solid sphere of uniform density starts from rest and rolls without slipping a distance of d = 2.6 m down a q = 22° incline. The sphere has a mass M = 4.2 kg and a radius R = 0.28 m. -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ a) Of the total kinetic energy of the sphere, what...

I've been at my gym for a while now, and for bench presses I do dumbbell benches on a flat bench. Something I've noticed however, absolutely no one else does. Almost everyone who does any sort of bench press goes for the incline benches, especially when using dumbbells. I'm aware that certain changes affect different muscles, but is there something I'm missing here? Are they so much ...

The spring shown in the figure is compressed 50 cm and used to launch a 100 kg physics student. The track is frictionless until it starts up the incline. The student's coefficient of kinetic friction on the 30 degree incline is 0.15. How far up the incline does the student go?

1998 S70. My driveway has a slight to moderate incline. When I leave my car overnight on my driveway, it won't start in the morning. Acts like it's not getting fuel. If I coast it down to the street which is level, it will eventually start. If I leave it overnight on the street, it starts up fine in the morning. I'm thinking it's the rollover valve? Any thoughts? Could an amateur mechanic ...

I believe it smells like a small amt of smoke hitting possibly the exhaust headers. Is this due to the incline? I drove it around the block and then parked level and it is no longer present. Any ideas before my long trip?

Ahhh, so I solved torque, but that's isn't to force, it's the product of the force and radius. Thanks for the help :) I knew something had to be wrong with my answer since I was pretty sure torque =/= the frictional force.

While the Incline Bench might hit the upper pecs a little better...you generally won't be as strong on the Incline as you will be on Flat bench. And the higher you incline the less stronger you'll be than a Flat. This brings me to another point, while we're on the subject of benching. It's relevant because part of the goal here is to get bigger Pecs. You want a stronger ...

Having a problem with a gravity cart delivery system. The cart has (4) casters, (2) rigid & (2) swivel. They load the cart in with the swivel casters leading. The rack slopes down say 10-15 degrees (don't know the angle yet, will check today). The problem is the cart rubs on the side guide (steel on steel) and prevents the cart from running and holds the other ...

Your Open QuestionShow me another » Shooting a Block up an Incline? A block of mass m is placed in a smooth-bored spring gun at the bottom of the incline so that it compresses the spring by an amount ( x_e ). The spring has spring constant (K) . The incline makes an angle (theta) with the horizontal and the coefficient of kinetic friction between the block and the incline is (u). The block ...
