Hello everyone. Here is a sentence. When you eat soup, there are two ways, American and European. Either way is OK. But remember: be sure never to make a noisy, slurping ___. Unlike in Japan, it is considered extremely impolite. Now, which fits in the blank, sound or noise? I thought it was "noise" but the answer was "sound". Why NOT "noise"? Thanks in advance.

I've noticed that this user always marks his own "thank you" responses as answers. IMHO, it's impolite and wrong.

I have been following much of the fun on this board for some time. Mostly I find it very amusing. Interestingly the posters that know what there talking about seem to get ignored and the clueless are very loud and generally impolite! Hey I won and paid for an item on 5/12. it was sent 2nd class, expected by the 16th(ish).now on the 17th and 19th i've sent a message querying when it was dispatched but they havent responded at all which I find rather impolite. Now the item in question only cost 49p plus £1.40 p&p so its not really a financial problem for me but the lack of response irritates me. lol. stars will be marked down ...

My mother was contacted tonight by the Ocean Club and told we had won a contest for a free trip. The man was obvioulsy foreign, he had a very thick indian accent. He was impolite, dismissive, and kept refering to my family as "you people". Once my mother had had enough, she said "im sorry, we are not interested, have a nice night." and hung up. The man CALLED BACK about 30 seconds later...
