W124 Sticky Ignition Key 1993 E class

My Ignition Key has gone sticky .... ie hard to turn past the steering lock to start once inserted. I have the vague recollection that this is potentially serious as if it breaks with the steering lock stuck on its a major rebuild job to Fix. However if fixed before its an easier and cheaper job. I'm sure there is an article somewhere here on the forum or in a Mercedes ...

Trouble with ignition/key switch

Hey all, I tried searching but couldn't find an exact thread. A couple of days ago, I started having trouble with the ignition/key switch on my 2005 C50. I'd put the key in, turn it forward to on and I'd get nothing, no lights, no fuel pump sounds, no dummy lights on the speedo, nothing. I'd then back it up just a hair and the light would light, the fuel pump would pump and she starts ...

Humming noise when turning ignition key

Hi- i purchased a 2002 LS430 about 2 months ago. It has 49,000 miles. I recently noticed on first start in the morning that when I initially turn the ignition key (before starting the car) I hear a humming noise that lasts for about 10-15 seconds. Seems to be coming from the engine area. I'm thinking it has something to do with the fuel pump??? Is this normal. Thanks for any help or info. Jay

Ignition key blanks & a cyl. head

Any good places to get ignition key blanks? My wife can't seem to find her key and I hate having just 1. None of the local places have them, although I haven't tried any locksmiths yet. 87 Conquest Tsi Also - How about a cylinder head? Mine seems to have an issue on one cylinder with sparkplug threads freezing. As long as the plug is o.k. there's no problem but since I don't drive it...

ignition key / steering lock problem

Anyone experience a problem: when the car is turned off and the ignition key removed, the message, "ignition key not removed" comes on when you open the door to leave. I tried putting the key in, turning it, car on/off, but still and help. You end up not being able to lock the car. I think it's related to the steering lock. Anyone have this problem???...

HELP! Ignition key doesn't rotate

Had turned tires completely to the left to change front shocks, truck is on inclined driveway. Now I can't get the ignition key to turn, seemed its locked at the steering column. Neve had a problem before. So I think it has something to do with turning off truck with it fully turned to one direction? Any suggestion? I'll hot wire if I need to get it start for work. Mike
