Trying to use Microsoft Update. XP 3 box. When I click 'continue' on the 'review the license agreement' screen I get a pop up box: "iexplore.exe - application error" "The instruction at "0x0ec90068" referenced memory at "0x0ec90068". The memory could not be written. New machine, just installed OS last night. Not much installed as yet. Tried turning off all of the add-ons. Still happens. ...

I've noticed on my Win 7 Pro x64 system that after I run Explorer or Internet Explorer, the explorer.exe and iexplore.exe processes never get deleted from my Windows Task List. As a result I end up with multiple processes running for each executable. Lately my IE8 displays an "IE crashed" message even though when I dismiss the dialog, IE continues to work just fine. How do I get these ghost ...

My admin user will logon and boot normally. All limited users logons and boots will keep loading svchost.exe & iexplore.exe into hundreds of occurences. No applications load at all. No desktop full of icons. Must hard reset each time. XP SP3 and IE 7.0.5730.11 I have checked for viruses. There are none. This is maddening. My kids are going to kill me. Any ideas?

iexplore.exe is not all all caps, and it appears several times. Is there a free Microsoft scan program we should run--or what else do you recommend we do to address this slowness? 1 person needs an answer I do too

Steam making iexplore.exe loop infinitely I've had Internet Explorer invisibly crash and open another instance of itself, and then it loops until it's used up all of my system RAM with 20-30 iexplore.exe processes. It only comes to my attention when Windows 7 displays a warning that I'm running low on memory. It took a while to track ...

Recently I got struck by a few Trojans, so I used a combo of Trend Micro/Malwarebytes and Trojan Remover to remove them, programs found a rootkit and some backdoor trojans (Backdoor.bot), all of it was successfully removed and all programs now show no threats on my PC when I perform a scan with them. However, I still have an issue of iexplore.exe randomly appearing on task manager and playing ...

This computer is my relative's and in a couple of weeks her new computer will arrive. I had already intended to reformat this HD and reinstall Windows, thinking that was why this machine is...
