Hello All, I am looking for some help on my 1992 F250 7.3. non turbo First off I though it was an IDI but according to my Chiltons engine classification chart the IDI and DI are the turbo versions and my engine is the 7.3 DSL. I have read through the forums here and have not seen anything on this engine but many about the IDI and it not being a turbo…or am I losing it? Can ...

I found a 85' F250 that's for sale locally for just under a grand. The mileage is unknown, but runs and drives just fine. Not a looker, but it seems like it's a decent 2WD, 4 speed, 6.9 diesel truck. Under cold starts is smokes black and blue, I read here that it's normal when cold starting and idling for long periods of time. Is this true? After it warms up it goes away so I'm just curious. ...

This is a strange question and hopefully someone knows the answer... Is the return line hose size coming off the pump smaller on an mk2 than an mk1? Hope this makes sense but Im talking about the banjo fitting hose size. Not the banjo bolt. Thanks Modified by deathhare. at 3:32 PM 12-14-2009

I got this from my uncle who had it on his TD, I don't know the mileage on it or anything about it, thus the price. It's worth the money I'm asking, even if you buy it just to rebuild it. $70 shipped - FIRM

Here is my story i have had this idi turbo 93 dually for about a year. When you first start the thing it smokes like crazy no matter what i do whether its cold or warm plugged in or not plugged in. The smoke is blueish white and smells like diesel. It will continue to smoke in puffs until you drive it down the road and it hits high rpms and clears out. These puffs and smoke are accompanied by...

I have a 1989 E-350 single rear wheel. The vehicle has the Ambulance package. It also is equipped with the 7.3 idi. I am getting noise issues from the rear axle. I was wanting to increase my top speed and fuel mileage. I would like to go to a higher gear ratio. The axle code on the door jamb says C2. I was wondering what axle do I have now. Also I am wanting to swap on dual wheels to stabilze the...

I will make this short. I am working on a 91' F250 7.3 IDI. I melted my GP Harness. Does International offer a new harness? How hard is it to build a new harness? It is only 8 wires coming out of a relay, right? I have hit up a few salvage yards with little success.

When auto hubs start to fail, what are the symptoms? Slightly over idle RPM, everything works fine. When you step on the go-petal something skips or ratchets. Does it sound like a hub issue or a t-case chain slipping? '93 F250 7.3 IDI 4x4 D50 TTB Extended Cab Thanks for the info.

94 Regular cab, IDI, 4WD Murphy's law, snow predicted next 4 days, brake line from front to rear rusted through yesterday, no way to work Line looks like a PITA to get to so I thought I would install a temporary line front to back attached with some wire ties untill I get a day off to fix it correctly. PBBlaster on the fittings? May be a little heat? Tubing bender and flare nut ...

Is there a rubber timing belt on the 7.3 IDI or a timing chain? My truck is wrapping the 250k mark and everything I have replaced so far was from the factory. After owning a VW diesel (and knowing tossing the Tbelt = catastrophic failure) I figured I had better ask if the 7.3 IDI uses a rubber timing belt or not.
