Hi Grateful for some help. I'm getting this message when I try to open iTunes and Quicktime isn't working and there's an error 2093 appearing. I've found the help page on apple but it tells me to delete any iTunesSetup.exe files that I have so that I can reinstall. This is where it's clear that I am clueless with this stuff - I've got two folders of iTunes files (iTunes and ...

Every time I go on my iTunes on my mac, it asks me if I want to update to iTunes 8 - no I don't. Please don't ask me why, I need help with something else. I click "Never Ask Again" and cancel and it still asks me every time I go on my iTunes.. Please help! It's very annoying.  ...

Hi I've been using the following Applescript for a couple of years to get the filename of a track playing in iTunes and put it in Word. Here's the Applescript: tell application "iTunes" set trackFile to location of current track end tell This worked fine on various iTunes 7.x but after recently upgrading to iTunes 8.0 the command doesn't work. I get an Applescript ...

I "upgraded" to iTunes 8 - another scenario yet of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Anyway, it won't run. Something about the 3ivx dynamic plugin that won't process the video files encoded (and which play well) on iTunes 7. How do I get back in with the old, and out with the new?

Like many others I have seen audio drop outs using my Airport Express since upgrading to iTunes 8. See http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID =8182760 I am now thinking of going back to iTunes 7 - however I am concerned I'll lose the music that I and others in the family have purchased since upgrading to iTunes 8. I know there is the previous version of my library ...

For reasons passing understanding, iTunes is bringing up the setup/install dialog at frequent but random intervals. I have to either cancel the dialog and reset all my internal program preferences (again) or surrender and run through the setup again, which invariably mucks up my library by duplicating and/or losing track of songs. It's becoming a fairly frequent and disruptive ...

Does the new 2G iPod Touch work with iTunes 7.7, or will I have to upgrade to 8.0? I tried upgrading before the Touch has arrived (yes, I downloaded the latest version), but it keeps crashing on my Vista 32bit Ultimate machine. Thanks for the help.

Recently when I have tried to connect to my iPod via iTunes the application asks me to register my iPod when I click Register Later the app won't let me move on to the next screen so I click Continue, sign in with my Apple ID, fill in all the details and then when I click Submit to register my iPod Nano the app once again won't let me move on This is happening on both iTunes 7 and ...

I know I'm not the only one that hates the new iTunes 8 and wants to go back to the previous iTunes. I downloaded 7.7.1.11 from filehippo.com but when I tried to open it an error message popped up saying "The file iTunes library .itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." This is just so annoying. I've never had a problem going back to a previous iTunes ...

hey guys, this was the error i was getting. Not sure if it was iTunes 8.0 or 8.0.1, but there wer apparently some bugs with 3vix in iTunes 8 that I didn't have with iTunes 7. Did try a reinstall, etc. but that didn't work. What I ended up doing was installing the newest version of 3vix (TRIAL version though), and that seemed to clear the problem.. Now what do I do when the 3vix...

Found my mistake. I was testing the script by playing a track from a shared iTunes library across my local net. As soon as I played a track residing on the local machine itself the script worked in iTunes 8.0 as it worked before on iTunes 7.x Apparently I'll need to code for the case of a shared track in order to correctly resolve the alias to the file track on the remote machine....

I noticed this on another thread & thought I'd post here as well, as I still have this problem in iTunes 8.01. The above suggestion of moving preferences .plist didn't work for me, nor trashing them either. This doesn't happen on every disc for me either, maybe every 2nd or third & you have to eject by the keyboard (even thought there is no indication that there is mounted disc) then ...

Seriously, doesn't anyone else on this planet hate itunes 8? I can't stand this thing and can't figure out how to get rid of it. It's slowed down my aging G4, has features I can't stand, requires more red tape and the genius thing just gives me the creeps. Hello, Big Brother. The only info I can find only applies to pc users. Help!...
