Hi, we have a Pool Group with 2 machines (1 Server Pool Master + Server Virtual Machine + Utility Server and another 1 Server Virtual Machine). Both have a iSCSI Shared Disk which builds /OVS partition. This is working, we can use High Availability, Migrate guests etc. But when adding new Server Virtual Machines to the pool (with guests running), ...

Hello everyone, Can we run some LPARs on an iSCSI LUN or an NFS volume? The reason I ask this is that I've just inherited a pair of IBM p9110-51A machines. I'd like to reinstall one of them with three LPARs and I was curious to know if I could use an iSCSI LUN or an NFS volume to house those three LPAR? I was thinking to mirror the two local disks and install the VIO LPAR on ...

Hi all, Today in Windows Server 2008 SP2, MS iSCSI software initiator works as virtual storport miniport driver. MS iSCSI software initiator, a single (virtual) storage controller is able to handle traffic through multiple network cards. We are looking at a similar implementation with our iSCSI HBA with multiple network ports on it. For a single PCI Physical function of our HBA, a ...

Hey. I just bought this DS3300 with 12x 450GB SAS 15K disks. I got 3 raid 5 arrays, and 2 lun's on each array. Using a windows xp real machine, conneted to lun0 via. ms iscsi iniator, and passmark performance disk test tool, i get a read of 96 MB / SEC wich is really good (what more can i expect from 1 gbit network), write speed is 55 MB / SEC wich is fine aswell. Using a ...

we run a test system with iscsi over 2 dedicated nics with multipath to an iscsi-san. if we disconnect one path the other one starts like configured. when we reconnect the path there is no automatic fallback. we have to run "iscsinit connect" to the target manually. should the fallback initiate automatically or do i have to create a cron job for this ? regards, Steve

I have recently become aware of the capabilities of OpenSolaris, and am attempting to setup a Storage Box to give a combination of CIFS and iSCSI and/or NFS. I have seemingly succsessfully been able to configure a zfs iscsi share via iscsitgt, yet the performance is just not up to par, so I decided to move on to trying out comstar without to much testing of the configuration....
I was unable to complete a long format on a 2.5T iSCSI LUN GPT disk. It always said the format did not complete successfully. The quick format seemed to be working. If I recreate a LUN that is less than 2T, I was able to format it with both long and quick method. Any idea? Disk management has no problem recognizing the entire disk space,2.5T, on the GPT disk. Details Windows server 2003 SP2 MS...
