My internet isn't working and it doesn't say there is a network cable unplugged or anything. When I enter "ipconfig" all it says is ------ C:\Documents and Settings\User>ipconfig Windows IP Configuration ------ No info or data. All the other computers on the network are working fine.

Yesterday, I was testing somethings trying to figure out why I couldn't ping my friend in Hamachi. I came across a help topic on Yahoo Answers and saw the "ipconfig /release and renew" commands so I tried them out hoping they might help me out. Hello, my winpeshl.ini looks like this: [LaunchApps] cmd.exe, "/c %systemroot%\System32\Startnet.cmd" %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Windows\system32\setres.exe, "h1024 v768 b32" AppPath = %PROGRAMFILES%\RocketDock\RocketDock.exe" startnet.cmd: wpeinit I cannot use the PING or IPCONFIG commands when winpehlp.ini exists, but mapping a network drive with name not with IP just works fine....

I really don't want to go each PC and type ipconfig /registerdns It's been a few days since the IP's were changed but I'd say only half of them had their DNS records updated.

I recently switched my home network from RoadRunner to Qwest (cable to DSL). Everything seems to be working fine, but when I run ipconfig/all from a command prompt, the DNS Suffix Search List and Connection-specific DNS Suffix still lists natmtn.rr.com - which is a RoadRunner link. The computer has been restarted multiple times and a ipconfig/registerdns, ipconfig/flushdns has also been tried ...

I just recently converted my domain controllers to virtual machines. I ran a DNS scavenge this morning and lost a lot of records. Now when the PCs and printers get back on the network they get DHCP addresses, but nothing will register in DNS. I ran an ipconfig /registerdns on my own PC, but it still doesn't show up in DNS. I don't know if this has anything to do with it being recently converted...

Are you sure the system is clean now? If not, go to the Malware Removal forum and read the 2 announcements at the top of the page. Personal files will be ok, but you will have to reinstall Windows ...

OK. I am back after a computer virus. I am trying to get my computer back to where I was. I see no new replies to my ongoing questions. Regardless, I seem to have emails that indicated I had new replies. I see none. The emails prompt me to select a best answer or something. Since there are no new replies, I may as well close off this thread and select a best answer. Thank you Saint19.
